Best Pie and Mash I've ever had - no joke. I've been to loads over the years, and this was hands down the best.I'm not a native Londoner and always found Pie and Mash a bit hit and miss and not something to obsess over like the locals do (bless 'em - why not? It's their local dish!). I think it was the liquor concept - always seemed slightly odd to me. Instinctively, to me, gravy should go on a pie (I'm a northerner).However, B.J.'s completely changed my whole worldview on the subject. Their liquor is like no other. It packs bags of flavour. It's absolutely delicious!!! I really don't know what their secret is and I doubt they'd tell me. All other liquor I had was watery or gloopy, and always tasteless. Not B.J.'s! You'll be licking your plate clean and asking for more! Do go there and try for yourself.And the owners were lovely and so welcoming, as were the locals who were dining there at the same time. Proper old school canteen feel, super friendly, unpretentious. It's all about their amazing Pie and Mash there.I'll definitely be going back.

Really lovely helpful staff, the pie, mash and liquor are to die for, tasty full pies with the perfect pastry, delicious, smooth creamy mash, and liquor that I honestly could drink a gallon of, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Keep up the good work guys 👍

Very nice pie mash shop. Staff were very polite, the portions were very generous. Liquor was delicious, as was the mash. Price was reasonable. The only thing that let it down a bit was the bottom part of the pastry. A bit dry other than that very good.

I think I've finally found a place to call home after 45 summers.. firstly the surroundings, you've got a proper powder keg ready to go off at any time. Which is great, as your never bored. Lots to see and do. Staff are what I would call cockney gems. Plenty of swearing with a welcoming smile and a plate of pipping hot,delicious, traditional, and very reasonably priced pie and mash. Day one 1, I had 2pie,2mash and liquor.. it was the best I've ever as yet..I am a very critical person when it comes to food. However I couldn't find a fault.Day 2, I had 1pie and chips with liquor.Chips,I hear you cry ("CHIPS") .. I must add at this point they only go and cook chips in (LARD)..I WAS ALL OVER IT LIKE A DIRTY RASH.. I can't remember the last time I had chips cooked in lard. Over 32years at a guess..Well my life has now changed. It was amazing!I would recommend this place to anyone..except a vegetarian. But I don't know any, anyway.. #supportpie&mash for London..

Best Pie and Mash in London!! Very authentic with great, quick service. Best cheap option for lunch. We have tried pie and fries with liquor and eels with mash. The pie was the highlight, with very nice and meaty filling, better than at goddards or other pie and mash places I’ve tried. Recommend!
