Chawalla in Newham

Would love to give a big fat ZERO rating but can't go less than 1 star. I'm surprised how the place is rated do high. The food had literally no taste and the masala chai tasted so strong on cinnamon and nothing else. Waste of time and money going there. Would definitely not recommend.

Beautiful vegetarian & vegan Indian cuisine of Punjab region plus best value for money! Perfect for lunch, lots of paneer, chaat and great portion sizes.

I'm a meat eater and although this place only serves veggie food I absolutely love it. There is a mix of Indian street food and traditional Indian dishes on the menu and they are all very tasty! You must try the chana bhature and the Indian tea. This place is a must visit if you're in the area!!!

Amazing tasty food served simply but presented well. They have now taken out the unique and beautiful fish aquarium which had exotic tropical fish which were a great distraction whilst waiting for your table. 🙄Consistent high standards.I remembered my late Mum who enjoyed going to Chawalla with my late Aunt. It was one of their favourite restaurants.

Excellent samoosa chaat and had masalaa chai which was very good. Nice and clean place and friendly staff. Overall worth a visit!

Visited the restaurant in many years, and the food was amazing, despite lock down there was enough items on the menu to choose from. The service was fantastic with tabek given fairly quickly and starter order taken without much wait. The food arrived quickly as well. We really enjoyed all the food we had ordered but the highlight was papdi chaat, bhajiya and chilly chips and chilly fried idli. The masala uttapa was also great. Definitely worth a visit if your in the green st area. The place has been around for years and food has always been great.

Always good quality food cooked by women (mothers) so you know it's going to have that authentic taste to it. This place only has vegetarian options. It's not a fancy place. Good for family and friends. Service is good. Water is free on the table. There's a fish tank at the entrance. Drinks were good, I usually go for the mango lassi

Great restaurant serving South Indian and Gujarati food.The food was great and they have a great variety. Do try their "Today's special" which changes everyday. I think the service could be more attentive and the waiters definitely need to have a smile on their faces.They have a counter where you can buy Gujarati snacks and different types of chaats.Wheelchair accessible and they also have restrooms.

One the best vegetarian restaurants in East London serving Indian street food. They sell different ranges of chats, south Indian food, thalis and sweets. I would recommend to try the thalis as they come with a range of items including chana masala, bhatura (Deep Fried Bread), lentil curry, potato curry, popadoms and rice. The service is ok and the place also serves food for vegans.
