Vasantha Vilas in Newham

This vegetarian South Indian restaurant is really busy and deservedly so. I'd ordered from here a couple of times and it had always been great, but now I finally visited in person and it exceeded my expectations. Some of the best South Indian food I've had.

Good Quality & Tasty South Indian Vegetarian Restaurant. Clean & attentive staff. Ask the price for Takeout meal before you order!! They charge extra for take out containers!!

This place is amazing. Every item on the South meals had authentic taste and the service was impeccable. Channa Battura was also spot on. The lady at the front desk was very pleasing. Highly recommended this place. Hope to try more items in the future.

All the waiters looked like they were on opium!!! Service could not get slower than that. Had to ask for bill 5 times from 3 different waiters. Food, MEH, oily and small portions. Why go there when the high street is full of other better alternatives????

Food taste was good, but the service was extremely poor. We sat on an empty table and after couple of mins they asked us to empty the table and sit on another as the restra was about to close but after sometime they allowed other guests to sit on the same table. The sambar was too cold in the 2nd time. As it was a self service they didn't gave us a single cutlery to serve and we need to ask them each and every time. They informed us that the kitched is close now and you can't order anything but the ither other guest's who just popped in after the kitchen was closed they were taking their food order and was serving them. Total wastage of money in order to customer service and only 2 staff members were their to handle entire restaurant.

Evergreen for vegetarian people, i tasted their Gobi 65 so crispy n yummy and rava dosa as well....

I was recommended this place as "the best on the street" (and to be fair there's tough competition - but tough only in terms of social media marketing). What VV lacks in IG posts and tags it more than makes up for as East London's best kept vegetarian secret! Walking into this place is like a dream of people from all cultures and backgrounds, sitting together, enjoying good food and good company for very reasonable prices.

Authentic, South Indian vegetarian dishes. We had the onion pakoda and Gobi 65 for starters, and the sambar vada, idly, parotta and the South Indian thali for mains. The food was delicious, spice levels were mild and the staff were friendly. Will be visiting again!

Superb quality of dosa...and especially chatni of tomatoes, coconut... don't forget to have authentic filter coffee..!!

I've been visiting this restaurant regularly for around 4yrs now and always have a yummy meal there. The staff are helpful and friendly, food is good quality and value. I'll be back soon!(photos are of eat in and a takeaway - different meals)
