Ambala in Redbridge

I drove from another town to get to this store, got there 15 mins before closing and the shutters were down but staff were still inside. When I queried the time the staff inside they did not respond

Not everything in life is easyThe main reason to come here is the food for some special occasion, and maybe some nostalgia.Nobody comes here for stellar customer service by the array of unhappy men that work here.Samosas are amazing. If the general public knew you could get a sub £1 savoury treat on the high street, Greggs would be dead.Sweets are amazing. Consistently great.But please let's not judge a 1960s company through a millennial lens.Ask yourself, you'd prefer smiley customer service over great product?

The owner really needs to inspect his shop, the lone worker asked for help as the queue was emerging but the staff at the back refused to help, the lone workers even tried his best to help the standing customers but said sorry the staff are just relaxing at the back I've been working by myself for ages .. This has happened to me in several occasions and if this continues I would will go Niralla or even Chashni. My mother suffers with back problems and waiting ages to be served whist staff are relaxing illustrates an awful image of you company.

This place is our go to for delicious authentic sweets. You will get a variety of popular Asian sweets here. They have gulab jamun, rasagullah, rasmalai, kajukatri, barfi and more. Their samosas and samosa chat are the best and cooked fresh! My husband is a big foodie and not many places impresses him but he is definitely impressed by Ambala. Established since the 1960s, they know their food and they know their customers.

Prices are crazy, queues are mad, and was charged for 4 carrier bags when I was given 3.Asked for 1 kg of a product. Was given 1.15kg when it's £9.20 per KG so its a big deal.Taste and quality is nothing like what I'm used from years ago.Stay clear

Absolutely stunning quality of Indian/ Pakistani sweets. Thank God it's not walkable from my home else I couldn't have avoided the temptation to buy sweets everyday .They also help you with a box of mixed variety of sweets.It's very clean place and the staff also maintains hygienic conditions and practices at the place.Staff is polite and quick too
