What a lovely experience. Best restaurant in Wanstead/Snaresbrook and we’ve tried them all. Can’t wait to go back. We will be taking our extended family this summer. The staff were so attentive with us and our baby. The food was amazing. We got a starter, middle course pasta, Bombetta and dessert because the food was so tasty. Definitely recommend.

It was a nice place to turn up on a quiet (2nd May) Bank Holiday Monday for lunch. The restaurant is relaxed and makes you feel like being incredibly lazy....sadly, the food (in my opinion) is severely lacking. The first time I came here was quite a few years ago...2016 maybe?...Bombetta hadn't been open that long....back then I found everything far too salty and uninspired...sadly not too much has changed. The menu is varied...meat and veggie people are delt with fairly equally...but the food really isn't anything to get much excited about. It comes across as "reasonably" decent produce, cooked with complete lack of menu understanding/flair - in oil that's seen better days. Our courgette starter "things" stank of stale 'spent' frying oil. When I'm asked "how was your food"...I'm always under the cosh...frankly, I want to go and talk to the kitchen staff...but I'm not allowed. I've had heated discussions in kitchens before.Visit Rome and you might eat stunning braised artichokes, visit Sorento and taste incredible tomatoes in a simple basil and oil salad...visit Florence and delight in a Lampredotto munched from a paper-bag on the street...these are all essentially peasant dishes...done incredibly well...sadly..you'll not find anything like this here - it's far too staged - whilst trying so desperately to be authentic. That's the trouble with travel. It raises expectations. If I were a cook in an Italian restaurant in this country - I'd want to draw on the inspiration and the beauty of both travel and the dishes you find along the way.Unlikely to happen here - anytime soon. The attached restaurant-shop dangles an intriguing Italian carrot - that the restaurant seemingly can't quite muster.

We have been coming to Bombetta for several years since it opened, and have never been let down. We always have exceptionally delicious food with friendly and attentive service. We visited last week for my husband’s birthday, with my parents. They were really impressed by the Bombettas - first time - and the freshness of the ingredients. Great wine list too showcasing Italy. Highly recommend for all types of occasion from a casual mid-week bite to a family celebration. Hope this neighbourhood gem never goes away!

Quite honestly one of the best eating out experiences of our 20s. we sat down, Silvio asked if we had been before and what we liked, we said everything, and that was what we got! Silvio then went out of his way to hand select a menu crafted to our taste, and pair wine with each dish. Everything was so craftly cooked and served. A proper foodies night out… such a dream! Am looking into booking a spot for my birthday because it blew me away so much, as long as Silvio is there! Would 200% recommend. We sat at the bar, made friends with the chefs, it was a proper experience. Go go go!

The food was even better than the last time I visited, a number of years ago, and the staff were warm and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my early Mother's Day meal with my family.

What a find! Loved every minute of the evening at Bombetta. The food, the service especially from Silviu who invited us in even when they weren't opening for another 30 minutes. Simple, inventive, thoughtful and well sourced Italian food just they it should be eaten and service with passion. We sampled quite a few things from the menu all of it excellent. Looking forward to introducing friends next time!

Had such an amazing time at Bombetta last night. The food was outstanding as was the service. My wife has a gluten and dairy allergy and the manager and chef were very helpful in making sure she had a delicious and safe meal. I’d give 10 stars if I could. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.

Great food and lovely dining experience. Small restaurant & very cosy.

I always wanted to try this place out and got the chance to go last night, managed to get booking the same day. I must say the food and service was great. Loved the concept of sharing all meals including mains. Great cocktails too! Will definitely be going back!

The wine, hand torn tomatoes on sourdough and burrata were amazing but unfortunately, the rest falls flat. Went for the veal ragu pasta at a steep £17.50 which was incredibly bland - I stopped eating and just packed up to take home so I could jazz it up myself. And the original bombetta, which was far too salty to finish. The waiter then dropped dirty cutlery on my friend, staining her trousers but didn't seem to care much. Disappointing experience.
