The Restaurant on the Hill in Redbridge

Food was OK, potatoes were under cooked but I was terrified of asking for them to be cooked because we witnessed the manager bully, be aggressive, and shout at other customers, so much so the customer shed tears. Friends have also been and had very similar distressing experiences.It's difficult to understand why the manager is in the service industry, she clearly hates people, when asked ''how is your meal'' she does not want the truth. If you're brave enough to be honest, expect a barrage of abuse and your plate being wiped away before you've finished. The staff must be under instruction to report back because when asked not to say anything until we've left, they report back and she will follow you out the door shouting at you. Why? Is she hell bend on driving customers away?If you're up for some drama and average food this might be the place for you otherwise avoid if you want a stress free evening.

Excellent food and excellent service. Baked crab appetizer was tasty, grilled shrimp great and the fried cod was amazing too. Best chips and Mediterranean grilled vegetables too. Sticky toffee pudding with custard also delicious.

Had the most fluffy fried cod in my life. It was so light and tasty. Massive size too. It was let down cause the bottom of the fish got soggy. Not sure if this was condensation or the lemony sauce that was over the fish. Chips were also very nice. The dessert was the star. Got the custard and ice cream with the pie. All so good. I'd come again and try another main, but sticking to this dessert.Staff were helpful and attentive.It gets busy so book ahead.Parking is free onsite but very few places. There's single yellow line parking after 6 ish or free Sunday.

Some of best seafood you can eat in the UK. Portions are generous. Everyone's favourite was the 1/2 Atlantic shrimp! Experienced slightly marred by sticky toffee pudding which had a hard base.

We had a beautiful meal. All the food was presented lovely and we really enjoyed our evening. The waitress was a real delight.We booked online. The resturant was quite noisy, we sat next to the bar which I wouldn't again as it feels like your sat in on the staff meetings but overall 5* we are looking forward to returning!

A nice dining experience, staff are fairly nice and they adhere to Covid rules very well.We ordered Mediterranean Grilled Prawns which were very nice as well as dressed crab. We didn't like the dressed crab as much as it lacked flavour. The soft drinks that came tasted very watered down and wasn't so nice.The mains were nice we tried the halibut which was delicious as well as skate. Both were cooked and deep fried very well, tasted great especially with chips.We also ordered a cheesecake to share, however it didn't taste fresh.Overall we did enjoy our meal and look forward to revisiting soon.

This place is quite special, the food is always fresh and never disappoints. Certainly one of the better restaurants in the area.
