Food and drinks good, service very slow but may have been an off night? One meal not as asked for!

Visited Easter Sunday for lunch with my wife and teenage boys.Arrived early and asked about our reservation. Table was not ready but were offered a table to have a drink and browse the menu while we waited for our table to be ready.Selection of food was good and reasonably priced against others in the area, we had carried put research before booking as some in our party can be fussy.Had heard about long waits for the food but after being shown to our table we were eating at, order taken and food arriving we waited less that 30 minutes.Food was lovely, we had two traditional beef and two roast chicken. Both roast chicken eaters were concerned it was going to arrive on the bone but that wasnt the case.We all almost cleared our plates with minimal fuss from the teenagers and ordered four different desserts, each one demolished. All the staff we encountered throughout our visit were polite, well turned out and friendly.Although 45 minutes from our home address we will be visiting again and have told friends of out positive all round experience.

Great service with great food. The waiter and waitress that served us was very polite and prompt. They had a separate vegetarian menu which was filled with choices for us all and Bella our dog enjoyed sitting next to the lovely Giraffes 🦒 All in all a lovely night thanks to my boss for treating us all

Had to think hard before making a review. The long and short of it is that the quality of the food we had was brilliant. Tasty, hot and plentiful. However the wait time from sitting, to having an order taken then getting the food was in my opinion far too long. An hour and twenty minutes from sitting to receiving a Sunday lunch seems mad to me. The waiting staff were working as hard as they could and I felt for them. No idea if it's a staffing issue or lack or organisation. Shame really. Will probably visit again, though it'll not be for a while.

Such a great variety of dishes on the menu looks appealing, but to have to wait for more than an hour for the main course is a shame.

I ordered a simple starter starter, 90 minutes later it was put on the table. Shocking very low budget food. Nearly 2 hours into the evening meal. 3 meals out of 8 meals not the best, Shocking really not busy at all. Looking at the kitchen chefs licking the spoons of dishes not great. All in all will not be visiting again.

A great find. The rooms are warm and comfortable and the food all freshly prepared and perfectly cooked. Good range of well chosen wines. The staff are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble.

·

The food was fantastic, the atmosphere lovely and the prices were brilliant too. Thanks.
