Fabulous place to eat and drink. Food great and atmosphere pleasant. Although we were very much interlopers we were made extremely welcome, as.if it was our local. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely pub with a great view over Petersham Water Meadows and River Thames. Was surprised at how quiet it was but it is still these Covid times. Beer great but didn't have anything to eat so can't comment on that side.

We have been eating Sunday roast every week for nearly 3 years now in Richmond , I can honestly say this wins the award for the worst roast dinner , I think I have ever had, the chicken was literally dry as a bone, I had to take a sip of water with every mouthful to swallow it, it had clearly been cooked the day before then reheated the next day, the meat was brown. The lady at the door seems to think that you should feel privileged that they are letting you in, the table service was non existent, no one tells you to order your drinks and food at the bar, so was sitting there for 10 mins before I got up and went to get a drink. The views outside this pub are beautiful, so I may stop for a beer in the summer, on my way for a roast dinner elsewhere in Richmond. There are some beautiful pubs with tasty roast dinners, but not this one.😢

Really good location, kind people. But food was just plain.

·

Cosy pub indoors and the perfect place to grab a drink for sitting outside enjoying the views, highly recommend on a sunny day

I love this pub. It feels like how a pub should feel, inviting and homey. The manager is a proper publican. She directs her customers with cheer and confidence. She doesn't drop the ball. It's fun to watch her do her thing. They do an excellent veggie Sunday roast.

A great little find just outside the Richmond entrance to Richmond Park. Was a well-earned find after a 17km to and around the park. The fort was not the standard pub fare and they offer a wide selection. Pub was clean and the antique pictures on the wall complemented the proximity to the park. Would definitely go back again. It’s outside the ron so not over-run with people.

Pub lunch of the best sort. We had fish and chips and the kidney and steak pie...both fabulous. Chunky chips crisp and moist. Onion gravy for the mashed potato served in its own little skillet to keep the sauce hot and the pie dry. Wilted green cabbage on the side... just so. Loved it. Thank you.

Very nice pub with good beer and food selection. Great spot with beautiful hill view towards the River Thames.

This is an historic pub with some unbeatable views across the countryside. The pub was clean and for a Greene King pub, the real ale choice was extensive. The beer I had was well kept and at the appropriate temperature. The service from one staff member was unusual and I did find customers weren't necessarily getting treated with the respect they perhaps warranted from her. However, maybe it was a one off as the pub is otherwise well reviewed, is listed in the Good Beer Guide and has won numerous awards. I understand the food is excellent and perhaps with managerial oversight the experience would have been entirely positive.[in fairness to the pub's response to this review, I've upped my review score, I like honesty and integrity!]
