The staff are amazing and extremely friendly. Also allowed dogs into the pub. Family friendly. Would have given it a 5 star but the prices are a little steep especially for fish and chips.

Grand old English pub with excellent cask beers. We found a table at the neck of the pub but it can get busy and with the low ceiling, noisy too. Staggering distance to the river.

The Old Ship was always a great pub! Of late, prices, especially food prices, seem to have shot up, and choice seems to have reduced - perhaps a reflection of the overall challenges the hospitality industry is facing. On a personal note, due to a back injury, I sometimes struggle with stairs, and especially carrying things up stairs if it means I cannot use the handrail. As part of a group of six, we were sat upstairs, and while some staff were happy to provide a table drinks service, others insisted we got our own drinks from the bar - inconsistency is never helpful...

Really great food, lovely service and a nice location. Try to book a table in advance as it gets quite full. Definitely book in for a roast dinner, very tasty food. The vegan options are also delicious. Very reasonable prices and a good range of drinks. Some sports games on the TVs, toilets available, stairs to seating upstairs.

The old ship is a lovely pub that has some great brews on tap and very nice munchies.I had an order of chips with my beer and they are very generous with the portions... Even sharing with someone else was a lot of food. The food came out piping hot and tasted fresh... I'll definitely be back again!

Went with group from work to happily watch Harlequins get beat by Sale Sharks. Had been to previous eatery who despite having two customers were not interested in taking walk in groups. The Old Ship was happy to accommodate.Venue was nicely and tastefully decorated in a 'Nautical' themeFood was top notch. Recommended and will probably be our future pre match venue.

Walked in for a roast at 3ish and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. The staff were friendly, the food was quick and delicious. The pub had a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

Seems to be a nice old boozer but was here on a Sunday afternoon and ordered fish and chips. Took half an hour and could’ve wrung the fish batter out for a bottle of oil, it was drenched. Basic tip: check oil temperature. Could see other people waiting long for food and dealing with issues.

I went here for lunch today with a friend, we both ordered a crispy chicken burger, unfortunately not only did the food take nearly an hour to come out, the burger patty was over-battered, greasy and dry. I then ordered a chocolate brownie for dessert, which was too overbaked for my liking and not gooey like a brownie should be. On the menu, the brownie is supposed to go with vanilla ice cream and I got strawberry. To top it all off, the entire meal cost around £50. What a rip-off. I will not be returning.

Great pub, very nice food - sausage roll on the ploughmans is a must! Attentive staff, dog friendly - provided dog treats which was a very nice & unexpected bonus. Atmosphere is cozy, quiet and has the tasty Smokey cola mixers which go great with a bourbon! Will come back to try the roast!
