Excellent quiet spot with outside tables in a beautiful park. Opening hours extended May to September to 08-17.00 (hatch 1h later).

·

Good facility and descent choice based on its size. Muffins, cakes, ice cream, coffee, canned gin n tonic, toilet facilities. That was needed for some time and it really helps everyone. There is hiany chess, domino outside. Indoor as well as out door seating. Good facility if you are visiting Marble Hill.

A lovely little cafe next to a playground. Couldn’t find a lemonade with lemons but the hot cross buns with butter were good! Toilets are filthy however

Breakfast ciabatta with up to 3 topping is over ÂŁ6.50. But wait! That's for just 1 topping, additional toppings cost pounds more (only found out after queuing for a while, and not having an alternative place to eat). Whilst the food was adequate, I thought it was a massive rip off. Treat this as a donation to English Heritage.

Usually part of the ritual when walking in Marble Hill Park. Stop off for hot drink and cake. Clean toilets with baby changing is a must with a little one in tow.

Lovely location and friendly staff. However, we felt the portions were tiny for their prices. Just over ÂŁ5 for 3 spoonfuls of soup which was just about lukewarm. The sandwiches came with a teaspoon of coleslaw on the side.

Lovely refurbishment. 3 servers, 1 was busy the others ignored us as we stood at the counter. Wonderful new tables outside, however, sad that they have removed many of the front ones which would have been in the sun. Menu description is poor - it just says ‘sandwiches and toasties’. And when you ask what type, you find out there really is max 2 or 3 options. Ordered a ham and cheese toasty which ended up being styrofoam bread with low quality ham and hardly any cheese - pretty tasteless and cost way too much. I may come back one day for snacks but will never go there for a lunch again. I was surprised at the low food quality, it used to be much better. English Heritage really needs to step up running this cafĂ©.

The place & staff are very nice and friendly, but there are clearly some issues with waiting time and the assortment of pastries. As an example, ordering a croissant is quite a standard order to place on a Saturday morning, and they are quite often and quickly running out of them. Moreover, the waiting time feels quite long for the takeaway coffee and snacks, sometimes there are 6-10 persons standing in the queue and it is not really worth it for a coffee and a croissant to wait so long.

This fine cafe has become something of a destination in its own right. Proprietor Eileen has created one of the friendliest establishments in the area and serves a wide range of freshly made sandwiches, hot food and delicious cakes, all at sensible prices.UPDATE at 15 Sept 2018: English Heritage - the owners - intended to close it down. After months of uncertainty which made Eileen's future very doubtful they have been forced by public protest to drop their plans. Now it's up to us all to support this valuable community resource. But will English Heritage recognise Eileen's long and popular service by renewing her contract when the inevitable renovation happens? Let's hope so.UPDATE at 21 September 2019: Now we know that Eileen will not be retained by English Heritage after Sunday 3 November 2019. This is sad news for those of us who have valued the warmth and community service of her time here. Enjoy it while you can.

Pleasant setting here with a selection catering for most tastes without succumbing to the ‘artisanal’ and its fickle affiliates.Covering familiar territory, with a few mild surprises and all at a reasonable price. Friendly and unaffected service.
