The Greyhound, Kew in Richmond upon Thames

We went on the off chance for some lunch and am pleased to say we made a great choice.We started some some food from the snacks menu and found the pork crackling strips to die for and the Padron peppers were ok but nothing spectacular.We went for the £7 main and we had the roast lamb that was simply but very tasty. Not a massive portion but perfect for lunch.The service was also amazing and am very happy to recommend this a venue worth visiting.

Good chips and a pleasant dining room upstairs. The outdoor area at the back is also quite nice. It's still pub grub, but it's decent! And the waiters were always nice when we visited.

Has this place changed hands? It's still fun and the staff are friendly and helpful, but it seems different from the last time I was there, admittedly before Covid hit. We had a great and filling lunch.

Came here after mum's funeral, all the staff from management to waiting/bar staff all very friendly and really helpful, nothing was too much trouble.Booked food beforehand which was very good and ordering extra side dishes when we arrived was not a problem. Did book to use the garden but heaters had broken(they were fixed later that afternoon) so we used the upstairs function room instead which turned out fine as it was a really cold day - we basically had use of the whole pub anyway. Everyone had a lovely time there after what was a very emotional occasion. Thank you everyone at the Greyhound. See you again. 🙂

The booking process and communication can be very difficult. Recommend you call to secure a booking rather than email.Sunday Ultimate Sharing Board is incredible, plenty of meat, really tasty and I'd definitely go back for that alone.Quite a small pub but loads of space out the back with heating and cover from the rain

We had the sharer roast, great concept, poor value. We asked for mixed meat but ended up very heavy on lamb. Great drinks selection. Staff seemed a little overworked

Shocking from start to finish - firstly we chose the place because of the menu, arrived to find a very small limited available amount of items - when questioned if this was the only menu they said yeah sorry! No explanation before or why it was reduced.Service is good at the start then they forget about you, we ordered drinks which came promptly but then we ordered food from the limited menu. 3 Wagyu Beef burgers, 3 “Vegan” bean burgers (see pics attached) 2 of us being vegan and 2 vegetarian it was the only option anyway. Imagine our surprise when these vegan burgers arranged - all with bacon and cheese and one even with extra bacon and cheese!!!!! When we questioned the waitress she really couldn’t understand what the problem was and told us that was how it comes!!!! When she eventually got a senior person involved they explained vegan to her and she rolled her eyes and took the food away - no apology - we then waited a further 45 mins for the new burgers to arrive. The beef burgers were swimming in grease and juice from the pickles but had a good flavour. The greatly anticipated bean burgers when they finally arrived had some apparent smashed avocado, which must have been half an avocado thinly spread amongst 3 burgers and almost non existent. The salsa was fairly laughable, when we asked the same waitress where it was she pointed us towards a 5 pence piece worth of red sauce that was on the base of the burgers, take a look at the pictures and you just might spot it, she advised us that salsa (her definition and explanation to us) is basically Tabasco sauce if we didn’t understand and as it’s so hot they didn’t put much on at all because nobody likes it - we asked for some more to give a bit of flavour to the dry patty, and she again explained that it’s simply Tabasco and too hot to eat a lot, again we asked for more to give flavour, 30 minutes later and after asking 2 more people she brought us back a tiny portion of what we believe to have been sweet chilli sauce mixed with Tabasco and tasting very cheap - enough for 1 person between the three. We asked for mayonnaise for the overcooked fries and they brought us something that tasted of sour cream at its best. We politely declined desserts and requested the bill in the hope that a small apology or token gesture would be offered for the shocking experience and service but instead we waited for 35 more minutes and then was presented with full bill including service charge. Not wanting to stay any longer we paid and left promising to never return and we advise that you don’t bother either - disgraceful in the current climate

Popped in with my mate for a cheeky beer, neck oil, table service good, staff arrived complimentary tachos, of course we stayed for a second pint, love venue, dusk across kew green, beautiful from pub window.

Had a fantastic roast lunch here today. Staff were nice and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Lovely dining room and food beautifully presented however the beef was rather tough and unpalatable which was disappointing. My roast pepper & tomato soup was tasty but my friend ordered mussels and I'd almost finished my soup when the waiter said that there were no more mussels left. Perhaps the kitchen was just having an off day.
