The Kew Greenhouse Cafe in Richmond upon Thames

Lovely setting. Wife enjoyed a different gluten free choice to the usual. Service was friendly. Meal was nice. Just a minor things - why do some nice cafes such as this serve a coke in a tin with a glass. It would look nicer if they poured out the drink and kept the tin behind the counter. Would visit again.

Excellent cafe. Always visit when I go to Kew Gardens. Love the breakfast before I go to the Gardens and back afterwards for a very good cake on my way home.

Great sunny day to be able to have lovely tea and cakes while sitting outside. Great friendly staff as well.

Prices were great and portions generous considering its in a prime tourists trap zone. Staff were lovely as a whole and I would not hesitate to recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Kew.

I had to write a review about our visit to this fab little caff. We were tired after walking around Kew Gardens when Tom suggested a sit down and a cuppa. I was afraid it would be a rotten tourist trap with over priced rubbish but we needed rest and a hot drink! The menu, however, was inspiring with interesting dishes and surprisingly inexpensive prices, and the cakes looked delicious so we ordered the greenhouse pie, macaroni cheese and two slices of strawberry roulade. Everything was really tasty and the portions were generous. Lovely staff too!We would come back to Kew just to eat here, that is how much we recommend it. Steph and Tom from Nottingham.

A very nice local cafe with very good and fresh food. The cakes are also great. The black cat of the cafe is lovely. 🐈😻 the only negative thing is "cash only" payments.

Such a nice place to visit after kew garden.

I’d been here many years ago and don’t remember anything negative but that wasn’t the experience today.Drinks were fine as was my baked potato but my friend’s macaroni cheese was horrific. At first glance it looked like cheese soup with oil floating on the top and bits of macaroni stirred in. Completely wrong texture - way too sloppy. Unappetising even to look at, let alone eat.He bravely tried it but we ended up calling over the member of staff and swapped it for a sandwich which was fine but there was a distinct lack of either customer service skills or an apology.On top of this, as you’ll see from other reviews they don’t accept cards at all. Some suggesting that the card machine broke a year ago! I’m now regretting my detour to the cash machine at the station and won’t be returning. I highly recommend Cafe Torelli around the corner.
