Bitterly disappointed. Dropped off friends having lunch last April. Stayed in car park for about 10 minutes in the car whilst finishing a phone call. 3 months later I get a knock at the door demanding I pay hundreds of pounds in owed money for using the Rose of York car park. Complete nightmare. Avoid this trap!

A complete shambles. Last time we went there was no chef so no food. So I checked before visiting with friends today. Asked for the menu to be told they had no gas so the kitchen was closed. That can’t be helped. So we asked could we have some sandwiches. No we could not. She couldn’t cope as she was the only one there. But we were the only 4 customers. Also she didn’t have any bottled beer. We departed and went to the New Inn. Sorry it is off of my places to go list !!!

Warm welcome by the general manager and his new assistant. Bed and continental breakfast was sufficient to start the day. Cooked breakfast offered for ÂŁextra. Bit odd no TV in the rooms or leisure area but good wi-fi to stream in your rooms. Call to register your car BEFORE entering the car park. Fines are often sent out to non residents.

Stung by their parking fine - I went in and bought a drink, said I was trying it out before looking at a house in the local area. No mention of needing to register for the car park (which is pretty unusual!) and now I've got a big parking fine. It's a total scam!!!

Extremely disapointing. No bitter and no food available at 7pm on Saturday evening. Did not even have snacks available other than pork scratchings. Bar staff very surly when feeding back our poor customer experience.

I always pass by this place but finally had a chance to visit this place with my car. I parked in the customer parking area and took a lot of photos plus videos because the place is so nice. We only had one drink because I was driving and we had it in balcony area which was very cool, the staff are very polite, kind and professional I will definitely visit this place again and I highly recommend it. It’s just very nice to seat inside or outside this place. Next time I will try food but this time we came for food but they didn’t serve.

Bitterly disappointed by this pub. I dropped off elderly friends for dinner and waited a while and a little while later I was charged £120 plus all manner of threats for daring to park there. The car park Bailiff’s do not have a phone number so no way to talk about my finances, now threatening to remove my property. Horrible stressful experience. Avoid going here unless you have a lot of money to throw around.

Return visit here last weekend and I wasn't disappointed. There's been a change of management recently but the Sunday carvery roast is still available with a new 'Trio' option - three meats, if you fancy a selection. Good, old-fashioned pub vibes and v friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

The absolute worst. I went here and parked up, checked out the venue for 10 minutes and got a ÂŁ100 fine in the post a few days later.ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. It's a pub car park!! The staff couldn't care less. All they care about is scamming people of their money. AVOID

It appears to be a family run place. Sunday roast was good in flavour. Although is advertised as carvery, meat is cut in the kitchen and it was pink/bloody, thick cuts. I asked for it to be slightly cooked and they did so. Meat flavour was delicious I( think it was 21 days aged steak), just sliced a bit thick. Yorkshire pudding and veggies OK.
