Elliot's Cafe in Southwark

Tasty food, the two pizzas we had were a bit greasy but overall a really nice restaurant. Will return and try the one in Hackney! Also great red wine choice.

Whenever I hear “British cuisine with a twist” I tend to shudder and think about hastily hacked together “fusion” ideas with bland taste and greasy ingredients but bl**dy hell this place proved me wrong. The food was absolutely divine! The service friendly and fantastic. The place has been recently refurbished during the various lockdowns and looks fancy and nice. Amazing wine list, try the young red wine.Price wise it will be a notch above what you’d normally pay for a restaurant but my god it was worth it.

Excellent! Came here for a lunch with an old friend and we had an absolutely gorgeous meal. I usually avoid "small plate" restaurants as I find them over priced and bad value. Elliot's is not cheap, but is excellent value for what you get. The plates are large and we were stuffed after 4. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Wine list is superb (would have liked to see a bottle for under £30 however) and imaginative. There are lots of middling and poor places around the market to eat, but Elliots is definitely not one of them!

This is one of my favourite restaurants in London. Generous portions and decent priced - the cheese puffs are EPIC and a must order. The potato flat bread with trout roe was also amazing (not sure if it’s on the menu anymore as it changes all the time).Only criticism is that the restaurant is not dog friendly inside, but you can sit on the bar chairs outside with your dog.

Very loud, overpriced. Sat at a counter table for quite a while without being asked if I'd like anything to drink whilst I waited. Female waitress with the brown hair spoilt the entire experience, kept interrupting my friend and I mid in depth conversation. Repeatedly told us how we only had 2 hours from the second we sat down. Then reminded us as we finished the mains that we had 23 minutes if we wanted dessert. Then returned two minutes later to clear plates and ask if we wanted a quick dessert. We politely declined and she immediately went away and brought the bill without us even asking. Service is really poor. Food is extremely over priced for what it is and nothing special. I wouldn't bother if I were you, waste of money.

A favourite of mine! Service has been a bit sloppy recently but I blame it on Brexit! The food and the wine are still amazing!

Had a lovely meal on Saturday 17th July 2021. Flavour combinations in the small plates were absolutely amazing. The roe and flat bread was devine and the crab pizza is to die for. The natural wines are epic. But best of all was the friendly, funny, and knowledgeable staff. A delight. Thanks for a great evening.

Elliot’s is situated just by borough market. Simply sitting by the side of the road, it doesn’t feel inaccessible, it’s very welcoming and let’s you take your time to enjoy the ever changing menu.The wine menu is a joy and the bartender did his best to recommend wines off the menu too.The ox tongue was great, alongside the chicken for a main which is roasted perfectly alongside the beef croquettes, which I think I could’ve been happy with if they just kept bringing those out all day.I have anchovy on curls of butter on bread which for me was far too overwhelming and just tasted like eating butter after the second one. Needed something acidic to cut through all the fat.It’s very comfy in there and the bar is a great place to sit. For the price it’s not casual dining and can definitely add up if you want to get a lot of small plates.EDIT: after being back numerous times I can can confirm that this is an incredible, all round, delicious place to go. Still to this day one of my favourite places to go.

It had been a long time since I had been to Elliot’s. If I am being honest, I hadn’t heard terribly good things from other people in that time period. But I must say that I really enjoyed my lunch here. Vibe hasn’t changed much, besides becoming a top quality purveyor of low intervention wines. Bistro-like, sharing plates is the point of call here. Ox tongue, (fantastic) Maris piper wedges, tuna tartare, bean & radish salad and a little fried cheese thing. Everything was delicious and I will be coming back!

Lovely restaurant - great mood and very relaxed and friendly service. The food was great, I had a couple of small plates and my friend had a great fish dish, all very beautifully presented. I ordered a ginger ale and it came with a snazzy metal straw. Will definitely come here again!
