Melton Mowbray pies are always eaten cold, that's a a fact and these pies are amazing examples of what they should taste like. The lady serving here is in fact very nice, approachable and helpful. If you can't make it to Melton Mowbray then this is the place to come for a super pie with great pastry and the all-important jelly...which is simply sublime.....

I wanted to try traditional pork pies so I stopped by to grab one. After getting it I wasn't so sure about it since it was cold.However, I pressed on and ate it anyway and it was delicious. The crust was crispy and crumbly and really tasty. The filling was meaty with juicy jelly, which went well with the crust. Although I had my doubts it was gone after taking a bite.Definitely worth a try.

Finally. I got here on a thursday to be able to buy the pork pies. Normally I'm in London on a Sunday when the market is shut, and I may have to pay the premium to get them from selfridges. Friendly service. It's not really a good stall, so they are not geared for immediate consumption. I can imagine that the request for brown sauce works seem very odd. And yes, you eat pork pies cold.

Brilliant place to visit and buy really lovely pork pies, quiches, sausage rolls. not tried the scotch eggs but I look forward to. The lady there is so friendly to all the regulars and asked she will give great tips on where else to eat or drink in the area.

I wouldn't normally write a review, but I saw some very negative reviews from others, and I'm very surprised. Every time I go to Borough market I have to buy several pies to fulfil requests from friends and family. They are by far the best I have ever tried, and there must be a lot of people who agree with me, because the only times I have ever been disappointed, are when I've turned up in the early afternoon, and they are already sold out.

I can't believe their pies are meant to be eaten cold. It is horrible. I asked the lady why the pie was cold, she replied that's the way to eat their pies. When I opened the hard Rock pie and saw the solidified fat, it grossly turned me off. It was unbelievable to be award winning if the pie was in this state. Unless the lady thought I didn't know how to eat a pie. If that's the case, it is utterly rude and pay no respect to your own culture.

I bought 4 pork pies they cost my £20. The bottoms on all of them were burnt and they tasted terrible. The day after I was violently ill with food poisoning. I had been looking forward to going there for years Very disappointing.

Best pork pie you will ever eat. The negative reviews are to be ignored, this is an authentic product in an iconic location. I bought these to impress a pork pie connoisseur and it passed with flying colours. I don’t see the problem with the service either. It’s outrageous to give this place 1 star.

Pork pies are great... but phone them to check opening hours of the stall in borough market. The google listed hours were incorrect when I last went. Also... the phone number is for their shop (not in London).. be careful to specify your query relates to the stall as sometimes they assume you mean the shop
