Real China in Southwark

Do not order from this restaurant, they have no concern for people’s dietary needs.We ordered vegetarian options and received a dish with meat in it & the restaurant had no desire to put this right when it was highlighted. In fact the woman was down right dismissive and rude.

Ordered Plain Chow Mein as I am vegetarian, order said Plain, receipt said Plain but when I sat down to eat it… CHICKEN!! Curry wasted too as that was mixed in. Wouldn’t eat here again.

Had a chinese from here a couple of times and can honestly say it is one of the best in the area. The food is absolutely delicious especially the chicken balls, they give great portions too. It is like they cook the food with love. If i had to be picky and find criticism it would be that it takes a bit of time getting here but that is probably because the food is cooked to perfection. Other restaraunts should take note.

Once this would have been 4 stars, but after last night I'm bumping it down. I used to love Real China - delicious, hot food, great prices and portions. Then I noticed the portion sizes were smaller - but not a big deal, it was still enough to fill you up. And then over the last few months the quality of food has declined, sometimes with me wondering if they've been properly cooked. Then last night I ordered Monks Vegetables and boiled rice. The rice was hard and cold, clearly not cooked properly, something I've noticed that has happened the last few months when ordering. The Monks Vegetables were inedible. The sauce was thick, gloopy, slimey and tasteless. Usually it's mostly tofu and brocolli and cabbage, no no, this time it was full of those long, yellow, rectangular vegetables that taste of nothing and are just used to fill it up. I emailed asking for a refund, only for these items and not the other I ordered, and have been ignored. Considering I was within my rights to ask for many refunds recently, giving the decline in quality of the food, the least they could do is answer me.So this lack of care for their customers is why I've lowered my rating and why I won't be ordering from them again.

I downloaded the app and ordered thinking that this was the Real China on Trafalgar road Greenwich. When I arrived to collect, I realised my food was in Rotherhithe. They very kindly brought me the food to Greenwich despite the mistake being mine. Lovely people and good, fair priced food. Salt and pepper Prawns were sublime.

Great sized portions. Amazing flavours. We sometimes try other Chineses' but always come back. 5 star! Delicious

Good food m and quick service. I went for takeaway collection. The man behind the counter was very polite. Food was warn and tasty. Definitely ordering again.

Although this is the tastiest Chinese I’ve tasted in the Rotherhithe area, be prepared for ridiculously long wait times, cold food and poor customer service.My family and I have order from Real China a few times now and 9 times out of 10, the food has arrived 30 to 60 minutes late. After calling the restaurant, they blame the drivers and cannot seem to give a proper arrival time. Tonight, for example, we ordered around 6pm, fully appreciative that it’s Saturday night, and likely to be a longer waiting time, but the woman could not give us a time. At 7:15 we called to ask where our food was, we were told it was ready and that they were waiting on a driver, should be around 10-15 minutes. We called again at 7:30 and the same excuse was given. The food finally arrived around 8pm, meaning that our food had been ready and therefore waiting for almost 45 minutes. We checked the food, and it was cold. We contacted the restaurant again and they said they would want the food back for us to have a refund (at this point, we had waited already over 2 hours). The person we spoke with was very rude. This hasn’t been the first time.I had always promoted this restaurant, but unfortunately I won’t be ordering from them again.

We ordered food via their app on 29th Jan 2018. The food was ordered for 8:30pm (which is a function on their app), and arrived 40 minutes early. We contacted the company and after a lot of discussion were told we would receive replacement food at 8.30pm, and that they would take back the food they had already delivered. We waited for 40 minutes happy at the resolution.At 8.40pm we got a phone call from someone different at the restaurant telling us we would get no food and no replacement - they refused to listen and were told there was nothing to do ('we are too busy' was thrown around a lot).So we had spent 30 quid, spent almost 30 minutes on the phone arguing with them, and had been lied to. What we got was stone cold food. As we ordered from them directly, there was nothing we could do - there was no one to complain to.Absolutely terrible place. Avoid at all costs unless you like being scammed.
