Lovely, friendly, busy traditional Pub, serving a large variety of beers, lager and cider. As a Real Ale drinker, I was impressed with the selection, and quality. Delicious home cooked food too, and reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the visit, such friendly welcoming Staff, and look forward to returning when next in London. Highly recommended.

Lovely traditional pub next to Borough Market. Wasn't too busy upstairs and managed to get a seat. There was a quiz going on in the basement which sounded like a lot of fun. Will recommend and go again.

The Southwark Tavern (Borough / London Bridge)Another one from back in January, where I'd heard on good authority that this place was not only slinging out @luckysaintbeer but also @bigdropbrewco on draft too. A boozer I used to frequent regularly when working in the area, the occasional craft lines with the likes of Gipsy Hill or Thornbridge made for a decent lunchtime tipple washing down the duck ciabatta as standard. It's an impressive building, dominating the corner of Borough Market, and even on this cold, bright, sunny Sunday, there were ample tourists dawdling about sucking molluscs from their shells. The pub itself was busy, hard to take a photo without anyone in it, and the lady behind the bar stared at me questionably as I tried to subtly pap away.Cosy, with a mix of high tables and shorter ones for sit down meals, the Big Drop Citra was a nice departure from Lucky Saint for this one. It flew down, and as I loaded up the West Ham on my phone, again, everything felt "normal", despite being in peak-ish rona times and not boozing.Operated now by Mitchell and Butler's, there's a consistency to their other venues, but this one is surely one of the nicest. History tidbits they quote online; "Dating back to the 1800s, The Southwark Tavern is steeped in history, housed in what used to be a debtors prison with old cells now transformed into snug booths."Despite being a tourist hotspot, there are some nice pubs around here worthy of your attention. This is one of them.

Nice pub and good atmosphere, drinks a little pricey, but if you sit in the cellar there's some wet mold on the ceiling, so you can breath a few spores in and get a nice free buzz 👌

I've been here quite a few times but probably won't be coming back. The last three times I've been here the upstairs and downstairs sections have both been completely full. Yet each time, several hours before close, the barmaid has come downstairs and announced that she's closing the downstairs area and that everyone has to go to the upstairs area despite it being completely full. It's annoying for the customers and I really don't get it from a business perspective either as most people sitting downstairs finish their drinks and go somewhere else where they can actually sit down.Bar staff are also generally quite rude and act like they would rather be anywhere else. It's a shame because the decor is nice and cosy, particularly downstairs.

Nice pub near Borough Market. Really busy upstairs at 4pm on a Friday, but much quieter and cosier downstairs. We just had drinks. You can order online from your table and service was quite quick.

The customer service was very good and on point. The pub had a family friendly environment. They had two-level upstairs and downstairs,. The price is very good too

Very good steak and ale pie, and nice staff. Accidentally ordered 1.5x the amount of beer I had wanted, though, so be careful with their web...
