Always enjoy this pub as great cosy traditional pub atmosphere with a real eclectic lot. It’s a good 15min walk from me but favour this over many others in my area and love people watching having a drink

Copacetic pub with a nice range of ales/ciders. The pub is friendly and inviting and is well looked after. Will be keen to visit here sometime during the summer.

Been here before and loved it but today everything was overcooked unfortunately. I will try again because it was perfect last time. Waitress said you can't get it right everytime!!

The Roebuck, a place to never visit again!My significant other had booked a table for 4 requesting for a table by the window. When we arrived, we were only given a small tight crowded table that could hardly accommodate us all. Throughout our time of waiting for our food to arrive, we had people constantly bump into us as they walked past. We asked a staff member for another table in a more spacious spot, but was told no, even though they didn't offer any seatings upstairs, which were clearly available.At this moment, the food would have been the last saving straw for the poor service we received, but we were only let down further once it arrived. The food was cold, dry, and unseasoned. To add further to the ambiance of the place, staff members did nothing to stop homeless people walking in and begging customers for money.I don't recall a single thing during my visit that went decently well, from the poor service to the food. Roebuck didn't live up the the word of mouth, and we certainly won't be back!

I booked a table by the window ahead of time for Saturday dinner. When we came in, the table we had, hardly sat all 4 of us and was in the middle (not a window seat), right by the standing drinkers. Every couple minutes a person drinking right behind me would push my chair and because there is hardly any space to walk around, things kept getting knocked off our table by passing people. It was extremely crowded and I started having an anxiety attack so I asked a member of staff if there is anywhere we can be moved to that's less busy. We were told no. I would have honestly left at that point if we hadn't ordered our dinner already. We waited quite a while for our food (but we were told that ahead of time so I can't blame them for that), and while we waited a homeless drunk man walked around asking people for money (which made everyone quite uncomfortable), the staff did nothing. When the food eventually came, and we all took our first bite, I knew I made a mistake coming to this place. We had the beef burger, fish and chips, fish pie and veggie burger. None of which was well seasoned and the burgers were dry. It's not a place to eat when sober. I expected better from this place given the reccomendations from others but I won't be returning.

It’s my local, so it’s ok for a pint. Awful food. Just too expensive for the cheapest food. It will absolutely deter me from going again. The roast was cheap and dry for £15. I ordered beetroot and almond dip, and there was barely an almond on my plate. Just disgraceful. Stop ripping people off.

A 45 minute wait for 2 burgers at lunchtime in an empty pub is not good enough, especially when they’d already just served the same to 2 people as we arrived.Apart from that, it’s a nice looking pub, good selection of beers on offer.

Good food, range of vegan options, nice atmosphere, kind management (lent us chairs for a movie shooting, thank you so much!), satisfiable selection of drinks. Venue is usually full, which might make waiting times longer, but nothing too crazy.Loved the candles on the table and waiters were super attentive (noticed our missing cutlery, tried to make it perfect). I will certainly come again sometime)

Had the smoked vegetable summer salad here. It looked appetizing but it was really not too nice. The leaves were bitter, it was drenched in olive oil. The vegetables were literally only peppers and onions. And if you were lucky maybe a little zucchini. Would have expected a bit more variety. The only good part about the salad was the flatbread it was served with. Not worth the £11 at all. Should have gone with the burger instead... giving two stars because the ambiance was nice and we got a table outside during the heatwave.

This independently owned Victorian pub is a neighbourhood gem serving quality Sunday roasts and it’s only a five-minute walk from Borough Station. They also have a veggie option. The interiors are lovely, it's a grand Victorian pub. Dining room upstairs and you can also eat downstairs where the main bar is. Nice place to relax and hang out with your friends at the weekend.
