The Gander Inn, Sutton in Sutton

Peter and his team were extremely helpful in organising my family get together. 14 of us had a lovely meal, served hot and on time with pleasant and helpful staff. Thank you Peter we will definitely return

Decent pub to watch football. Nice staff. Bit strange how bathroom doors of men's and women's open all the time, never seen that anywhere, and also thehe manager follows people and looks like he pretends to use it. Made everyone feel like they have a huge drug problem but tbh I didn't feel that at all from people in there. Was just the manager who made everyone feel that way. Either way still a nice pub.

I am actually not enjoying having to give this pub a bad review but unfortunately my experience will be my last visit. Having wanting to try this pub for a while and being told not to bother by many people I decided to give it a go. Myself and two friends visited on a not busy Monday night and went to the bar to order food and drinks. Half the menu is missing! So having spent a good ten minutes trying to order we gave up and went up the road to the nonsuch inn. Well, what a difference a busy vibrant pub, and no wonder! Everything available on the menu. No wonder the gander inn is empty. The nonsuch in is where will go in future and will recommend to friends. Such a shame as the staff are good and place is clean and fresh at the gander but to get customers you must be able to cater for them. Perhaps the management team at the gander should pay a visit to the nonsuch in too see how a pub serving food should look. If you can’t serve the menu, don’t offer food. That way people will not be disappointed and when you can offer a full menu people will visit! Simple really isn’t it

had a fantastic party in the gander pub, we had the far end of the bar, the food table was at least 10ft long it was pack full of very hight quality food catered for 25-30 people but would have fed 40, the staff were amazing nothing was to much to ask, Sarah did a wonderful job looking after our every need, a big thanks to Peter and his wife the managers for making this party so memorable, hence the 5* ratting, highly recommended if thinking of having a celebration.

Called in for a couple after golf. What a great pint of Guinness best I have had in ages. As an ex publican they look after their beer and pipelines.

My self and my partner decided to give this pub yet another chance. Went on a Tuesday night. No one in the restraurant section at all, a few people in main bar. We have had issue before regarding availability and in all fairness there are signs on all the tables saying possibly items aren’t available. However I went up to the bar as I only wanted something light. So my question was do you have any wraps/paninis jacket potato etc. no we’ve got none of that was the answer, but we’ve got everyone else. So i decide to go for the plant based curry. My partner goes up to the bar to order and guess what……. No plant based curry. We ended up walking out yet again and went someone else!

I can say with confidence that this is the best pub to visit in Sutton. I’ve had countless nights out down here, and have always left satisfied. The food is fantastic, it has a great range of drinks, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Perfect for a nice midday drink with your mates too 👍

I went there with my wife on 13th February for Sunday lunch.My wife had chicken and I had beef which was both cold. They didn’t have pigs in blankets , cauliflower cheese which they advertise.They asked if everything ok and we told him it was cold and all he said is I tell the chef. Not I will get you a hot dinner!! Nothing!! No customer service. Never again!!

Me and work mates went Hear for a drink today when work finished early we made quite a big food order wich all came out hot and everything was right the bar staff made us feel welcomed deffo recommend

Went there for a Sunday lunch, 2 of us had the roast which was good , the extra gravy in the jugs was welcome, I think my friends would have gladly paid an extra £1 for a larger meal. The macaroni cheese dish i had was great and just the right amount. We will definitely go again.
