Amazing food. You have to be comfortable walking down a side street and into a tired looking basement cafe, but well worth it. There was a few locals there ergo were really friendly. The lamb shank was awesome and enough for two people. I paid £13

Amazing authentic Somalian food. Ordered the the lamb shank and chicken and to be honest a great experience.

Do not be put off by the humble entrance in an alley, the food here is unbelievably good.We didn't even see the menu, the owner just recommended the lamb shank with rice, so we ordered it right away. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked; it melted right off the bone. The rice was also excellent. The green chili sauce was spicy and delicious.The atmosphere is casual and welcoming despite the no-frills decor.The portions are massive, and at first I didn't think I could finish it, but it was so good that I had eat every bite. The prices are very reasonable too.

Homely Somali Restaurant in a basement very closed to East London Mosque. A hidden gem!!Quality of food is excellent and very tasty. Portions are large and prices are affordable.Toilets are clean but need to be renewed. Also the staircase to go down the restaurant needs to be redecorated. Other than that, perfect experience.I will definitely go back.

Definitely a hidden gem! Well worth a visit if you're looking to try good quality and delicious East African cuisine. Some people say the place itself isn't very modern or clean, but to be fair it's not entirely the case. Yes, they may need to update some physical and hygiene aspects of the restaurant but that doesn't take away from the amazing customer service, the food and the prices. The man who served us was extremely polite and friendly, he made me feel comfortable during my time at this restaurant. I ordered the lamb shank with rice and salad, it was so tender and extremely tasty! The sauces were spicy and flavourful. Suitable for families and couples as well as singles. Come here if you want to leave with a happy belly!

Delicious food! Loved it here, great vibe and solid service. Man they was not joking about the portions they are huge! We went for the Lamb Shank and was blown away, rice was cooked perfectly in Somali style which i really really like!

If your reviewing their food, I would give them a 4.7 stars out of 5.The price is good, the taste is awesome and the service is also very good..I ordered a chicken piece, lamb shank and two portions of their rice and it was a very good, generous amount for both me and my friend.I really like the taste of the rice and meats combined together...What would bring in more customers to try their food is if the shop was on the main road somewhere where it is a little more family orientated...I think they are opening this soon.Other than that they sell great food, and after speaking with the owner and staff, I have no doubt they will do well...The place was a hidden gem.

If you want honest, simple but delicious food then this is the place for you. It's a real hidden gem. While there's no frills with the decor, the lamb and chicken are fantastic. The plate of food in the pics was only £19 (£12+£7). Recommended to go here with the lads for a munch.
