Barry's Fish Bar in Tower Hamlets

Have gone here twice. The portion size is a lot! 1 doner wrap can be shared by 2 people. Same with the Fish and Chips. Taste is decent.

My cousins ended up with raw chicken and I had a saveloy which then gave me food poisoning and was sick for a whole two days. Complete disgrace of a chip shop and need to clean up their act. Would never buy from here again

The chicken wings had blood. The chef cooked it fast. It was rushed. The donner taste like rubber, no flavour. The wings tasted dry. The chips over cooked. Too crispy and didn't have any taste. The food was a waste. I wouldn't consider you buying or ordering online. Worst experience. I am now vomiting. Blood came out. The food disgusting.

If I could give zero stars I definitely would. This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Barry’s used to be owned by Turkish people and it was lovely back then, ever since new Bengali management has come in Barry’s has been absolutely horrendous!! The staff are awful so rude and not professional at all, the place is dirty and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years! I ordered a lamb doner and chips and 4 wings and chips and will never ever be ordering again!! The doner was old, greasy tasted disgusting. The chips were stale, rock hard and I don’t think they were even actual potatoes. The wings were greasy, blood all over them, fried probably about 100 times and were most likely over a month old! The portion sizes were ridiculous, very small ration of chips toDoner and chips to wings. Save your money, do not go and order from this place there are much better places in Bow. I will definitely never be ordering from Barry’s fish bar ever again!

Order meat and chip. The chips seemed old and no taste to it. Only had about 10 pieces. Yes 10 pieces. Wasn’t difficult to count. The donner meat was covered in greasy oil. It was dripping oil. Had upset stomach and vomiting. Not good. Wont order again.

Very disappointed thanks for the hard battered fish and, old chips and the lovely burnt fish cake. Can wait to order again not

Got myself Skate & Chips and couple of wings, food isn’t bad at all, average pricing, although the wait was kinda long, man who served me was an absolute gent. The place isn’t so attractive from inside and out. Overall food isn’t bad at all, I’ll probably go again if pass by but I hope they refurb the shop and make it look better.

I have eaten before and it wasn't the best then but was good enough to eat.Today I ordered cod, chips and fish cakes. The portion as usual was very generous and looked very nice too but it had a weird odour, maybe the oil hasn't been changed in a while. Out of the two fish cakes, one was completely off and filled with oil.I won't be going back there, but if you do, make sure you check the food before they pack it in.

Ooookay.Good points:Food received fairly quickly.Presentation was decent (came in a dedicated fish and chips box)Large fish size was decent.ImprovementTaste was ooookay, it's fish and chips. Can't really go wrong.If you ever go, you have to specifically request Cod and Chips (not just fish and chips), otherwise you get given Haddock and get charged the same price.Chips; you'd always expect fat chips, but always with some crunchy small ones. Disappointingly only a couple of crunchy ones.Price: a little more on the expensive side given this is a local chippy. £9.95 for a large fish and chips; but I would say the portion of chips received was at best, in comparison, a small portion.

So I ordered food and unwrap the chips to find this bug crawling around..called and they refused to help. Honestly the worst customer service EVER. Don’t waste your time if you have any common sense. Oh forgot to add they tried bribing us into not giving them a bad review by offering us free food next time?!?
