Lovely hotel in the heart of Shoreditch, so can be a bit nosiey at night which is the reason for only 4 stars. I stayed in one of their suites and they had everything I could want. The bathroom was lovely with a nice bath. The bedroom was located on another floor within the suit and was just that extra bit of luxury.

Used to be a nice, cozy place with good food. Now it’s ran by staff with little sense of warm service (esp the manager), the food is plain average and they’re clearly skimming on heating… everyone was wearing jackets and looked obviously cold at the tables. Such a shame

The restaurant allowed a huge, noisy ‘birthday party’ table of around 15 people to completely take over the restaurant. As it’s not a big space, this had a huge impact. The constant shouting, singing and cheering really killed the vibe.Lastly, although listed as an ‘indoor’ booking the place was really quite cold.

Nice rooftop restaurant ! Really hard to find the entrance though as not on boundary street! Since it was raining we could not access the outdoor area but the indoor part is lovely. The cocktails and desserts were quite good and the seafood mains were a treat! My colleague did not enjoy his duck though as it was super dry so maybe avoid that one. Our waiter was very fun and friendly.

Going out in London, particularly post-pandemic, is ever more hit-and-miss. Prices will nearly always be higher, the only wildcard being whether the ‘product’ lives up to them. The Rooftop at Boundary Hotel does not.As seems to be the way, a stylish setting employs good front of house staff while the owner works out ways to rake in as much money as possible and provide as little as they can in return. We went on a Wednesday, early evening in early October only because of the terrace. This was not a mistake - it is very nice up there - stylish, even ‘cosy’. The staff were friendly and approachable. That being said, the cocktails were mediocre, strongly priced and SLOW despite the place being only a quarter full. Our mistake was to have dinner. The restaurant is a noisy little glass box. Clearly the chefs can cook - some of the dishes needed tweaking (burrata and leek) but it was a new menu so clearly there were teething troubles. Perhaps as a result the food was SLOWER than slow which makes it difficult to forgive the dried out gnocchi and over cooked duck, but again this could be fixed. The ham hock terrine was nice but pitifully small. Overall mediocre. We were both relieved that we hadn’t ordered the lamb rump at £29 and suddenly the Parmesan fries at £7 started to look good value.By the time the food arrived I had already regretted bringing my guest here. Then the wine arrived - a lousy bottom shelf at the Co-Op pinot noir priced at £39 which was in similar company across the other reds and whites. A little investigation reveals this wine as being available for less than £5. I accept ‘hit-and-miss’, but don’t take the piss, again, please.By all means go, have one drink, make it last while you enjoy the view then move on somewhere else for dinner and drinks. If you’re lucky enough to not care about wasting money on the restaurant, at least don’t waste your time.

i want to like the hotel but it’s a bit difficult. i wasn’t able to get a room key the entire first evening / night so i had to get escorted to my room by staff every time i wanted to get back in. not ideal. i understand that things happen but some sort of balancing act is required when it impacts the freedom of the guest.update: thanks for addressing the issue. incremented the rating 🙏

The place was nice and the view, however the service we received was not welcoming. I say this as the same waitress was more welcoming to others and this was the reason I got the bill after the drinks and went elsewhere to eat.

·

Only commenting on the rooftop : while the surrounding and service stay amazing, the food and drink quality collapsed compare to 2019 and before. Combined with prices increase I would need to think twice before coming back now.

·

Amazing rooftop experience. Great food, good quality wine, cigars and scotch selection. Reasonable prices for Central London. All staff was helpful and managed our Saturday afternoon in a top notch fashion. Will 101% come back and bring more friends around.

We love it here - we usually go for drinks. There's a lovely fireplace in the middle of the terrace, good heaters and blankets if it's cold - the staff are also always very attentive. They have a good selection of cocktails and there's decent views over the city.
