Great old pub, quieter then expected on a Friday night. Pity the music didn't match the decor

Great atmosphere, really good service from professional and pleasant staff.Time in the Grapeshots just slips away. Wish they did more Italian dry white wines but still love this place.

Victorian pub on a narrow cobbled lane, with a decent pint and great atmosphere.

Manager took away chair and gave it to another customer. I was waiting for someone to join me, he said the table reserved at 18.15 and it was already 18.35 when he took the chair away. He was very rude and spoke down to me constantly. My client had recommended the place and he ended up looking for somewhere else.

Great experience!! Delicious food and great service. Highlight of the meal was being served Old Wallop in a pewter tankard 🍺🤤

Really cool oldy worldy venue, & probably the only place in east London not blasting music so loud you can’t hold a conversation.Unfortunately the charm of the place is completely ruined by the Italian manager. When we arrived, he was sat near the bar, FaceTiming at full volume (no headphones). Seemed completely oblivious to the fact he was shouting in an otherwise silent room. Really intrusive to the atmosphere. This ended after about 10 minutes. He then walked over to our table and silently placed a reserved sign on it. No eye contact, no greeting, no asking how we’re doing. Just placed it down and walked off. Bizarre and awkward. No effort being made by him or anyone else to clear empty glasses off the table. We moved 6 or so empty glasses from our table so we could sit at it, and watched another couple so the same with empty glasses on another.Manager needs to have a bit of an ego check, and realise he’s there to do a job and not just sit on a stool behind the bar.

Lovely little bar with a wide range of great wines. Really enjoy spending a night chatting with my friends here. We ordered two bottles of red wine from the "lighter and fruity" list and they were so nice.
