Loved it steeped in history and very Friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

A good old English local pub, somewhat famous for having previously been owned by gangsters. More sedate than nearby Brick Lane, and a nice atmosphere.

·

This was my favourite pub until it got bought out by Camden brewing co. It's lost a bit of it's charm - the open fire has been replaced with a gas stove for example - but it's still a solid boozer.

Nice little pub in East London, bar staff attentive and friendly. Great for a quiet catch up with friends although have yet to try food but will do next time!

·

Threatened by the bar staff at 2:00pm..was quite shocking behavior!! Have never experienced such awful service before. Save yourself the trouble and try out one of East London’s other great pubs nearby

Great pub with friendly atmosphere. Plenty of knooks and cranies to sit silently and watch the world go by. I would not fancy sitting with my back to the door though...never know who might pop up! I went on a quiet Friday afternoon and the service was fantastic. Had a chance to chat with the very friendly barmaid/bar manager called Kendra (I probably have her name wrong again!). Enjoyed my tomato juice on my grand tour of the old East End haunts of the twins.... hats off to the Liverpool lady! Will be back soon for a return visit... may well bring my little family (if my better half is willing!!). Otherwise flying solo once more... may stay for two! I will pop by to visit absent friends.....and long lost family members. Might even get a nice cuppa this time? It was just like coming home after many years away...sadly did not meet the old locals (possibly because they have all gone to a better place). Say hello to Miss K if she is about?

Fantastic small pub off the main Brick Lane and Shoreditch scene on a quiet backstreet. They have a good beer selection including Gamma Ray and Camden Hells. Friendly service, in a cosy atmosphere. It is bigger than you think once you get inside.

No real ale when I visited either Peter - a bit disappointing considering it was a Saturday night. Nice little pub but far too expensive - £6.20 for a pint of Guinness is a little ridiculous when in nearby pubs (with similar clientele) the price is firmly below £6 & oft. closer to £5.

Small pub with a big range of drinks. Proclaims real ale on the outside but none available when I visited. Unusual German brews make up for it though.

This place is my new discovery! Didn’t even expect that they have kitchen inside as the place is quite small. Was looking for Sunday roast place with my friends and we found the Carpenters Arms the best place next to our home! Food was delicious! We decided to skip the desserts to try more Roast options😂 staff is super friendly and helpful. We grabbed few bottles of wine and some drinks later on, we felt so comfortable there that instead of a quick dinner we spent there few hours playing games and chatting. They don’t take any reservations tho so be prepared to wait few min for a table, but it’s absolutely worth it!Thank you for having us ❤️
