Barneys Pie & Mash in Waltham Forest

It is a great traditional Pie n Mash shop. Also, it is local to me. It is my number 1 stop when I want to eat out. After pie n mash you can have dessert. I have taken a picture of my sumptuous apple pie and custard. It was delicious. You can get take out, you can eat in and you are always greeted with a smile and a bit of banter. I recommend this place to all.

Tom from Barney's helped the William Morris Big Local organisation to set up a lunch event for local residents. He kindly gave a discount, which enabled the WMBL to invite 60 more isolated people to a free St George's day event in a local community centre.Everyone loved the pie and mash, Tom even gave free liquor as an extra!Thank you so much for your kind help and support Tom, you are truly a gem in our community.

Had a delicious take-away from this charming, award-winning eatery. Pie was very tasty and satisfying: delicate pastry did not overpower the meat filling; the mash potatoes were comforting, and the two were nicely brought together and complemented by the tangy liquor. Shall definitely be back for more next time I am in Walthamstow and I shall eat in. Barney's Pie&Mash is bright, cheerful and super clean ( it had just had its 5 star hygiene rating renewed); the chef/owner is extremely welcoming, interesting to talk to, a very talented cook, with enormous passion for what he does. I would highly recommend this place.

BARNEY, S pie's are really Tasty pie the best ive had,, pastry lovery and crispy.And the Apple pie OMG so so good. And tom the own very friendly abd welcoming and looks after you.

Very very nice pie&mash. Made with care by Tom the owner. Veg pies delicious mushroom & leek his own recipe, much better than meat substitute fillings! Simply heaven on a plate. Really took me back to dinners with my grandad.Wholesome, tasty, fills the belly without emptying your pocket. Cheers Tom for your integrity it's appreciated 👍

This place is absolutely amazing, came from north London as we had seen that barneys had such amazing reviews and it did not disappoint.Sadly I wasn’t able to park so my partner had to run in and get the pies but the owner was more than helpful with trying to find us a parking spot but Sadly they were all taken (not his fault).The pie and mash was so good, definitely the best I’ve ever had, the mash was so smooth and the filling of the pie OMG, packed with flavour, I usually use salt on all my food but this didn’t need one bit. The gravy was silky and thick with a rich flavour.WILL BE COMING BACK FOR SURE!!!

Had a great lunch at Barney’s today, nice simple meat pies, great flavour, lots of filling… creamy mash and liquor. The chilli vinegar was the perfect accompaniment. Had a good chat with the owner, which was nice as I was dining solo…it made for a bit of a social as we put the world to rights. Will return!

Absolutely delicious. One of the best pie, mash and liquor I've had. Also has the best chili vinegar I've tasted.I came all the way from North West London to just try it after reading about it in MyLondon. It was worth the trip. Quality handmade pies. Very friendly place. The owner and cheff does it all himself.Give it a try if you love pie and mash.

Just had pie & mash with liquor, and was best l have had in years. Proper pies and liquor done the old fashioned way, just how it should be.The prices are excellent value, prepared and cooked by a friendly helpful chap.Manzies in the market, may have gone, but this place curtainly on equal par. Be my local pie mash shop from now on.

Came across Barney’s on JustEat in 2020 and was surprised by how lovely it was! The pies were really fresh and meaty and not burnt like they sometimes are. I’ve converted my whole family to Barney’s and my mum said it is “better than Cookes and Manzes”! I think that comment speaks for itself. God knows how this place was only established a few years ago and it’s better than two of the original east end pie and mash shops!
