Cafe Rouge - St Katharine Docks in Waltham Forest

Not quite what we'd hoped for on our evening out. I've always been A Cafe Rouge fan but this wasn't a great example of the chain. The service wasn't as friendly as expected, the calamari was overcooked, the pate had insufficient (Mothers Pride style) today and the salad was somewhat miserable. The food news is that the steak was excellent.

Food was all around good with decent portion sizes, particularly for the steak sandwich. They were training new staff the evening we were in so there were some mistakes with our order however they were quickly corrected. Staff were very friendly. I really enjoyed the Stella Cidre which I had never had before.

Great food and lovely staff! Absolutely loved the idea of sugar syrup for the iced coffee :)

Good atmosphere, a bit noisy because of the hard floors so if it's busy you might find it hard to talk. Food very reasonably priced and good value. Only grumble is they mixed our steaks up as my partner is gluten and dairy free so we couldn't swap and had a train to catch. Waitress was brilliant too

Came here a few times recently for breakfast. Very tasty and well presented by the excellent wait staff. Prices very reasonable too for central London, will make sure I go back when I return to London

I have been dined in Cafe Rouge many times in the past but I choose the restaurant in St Katharine's docks. Busy restaurant during dinner time, only 2 staffs are working tonight for table servicing includes check bill and 1 bar staff, expecting a little waiting time for foods. Service is good, friendly staffs, foods are yummy, drinks menu a little expensive. Overall I had a great time dining tonight!

A good restaurant near the Tower Bridge and Tower of London. I enjoyed the veg options, food arrived quickly, drinks were great. Will be back!

The worst afternoon tea ever - avoid at all costs. Not worth the money at all. We felt bad for wasting but it just tasted awful - poor quality and below standards. Service was so slow, as they were hugely understaffed and staff were miserable. Would not recommend to anyone!!!

The food was very underwhelming quality has definitely gone down. The chicken had a very strange taste and the side salad had brown lettuce.. as seen in the picture. The omelette was quite dry too. The area is very nice but I would not recommend the food.

Very nice food and service, great position of restaurant right next to Katherine Docks, until I tried to get the bill at the end of the meal. I asked the waiter 4 times and waited over half an hour just to get the bill!!! I should have just walked out!!
