Peking Chef in Waltham Forest

Never had a problem with these guys until today. Customer service is woeful & they couldn't even tell me my order after a 90 minute wait.When the order eventually turned up, half of it was spread across the bag, everything was cold & thoroughly unenjoyable.Such a shame that I won't ever use this restaurant again as they were one of the best Chinese in walthamstow.

See the recent health notice picture. They have been closed down due to multiple rat, mouse and cockroach infestations. Unfortunately the owner is very miserly and she won't spend any of their profits on cleaning and hygiene and is happy to risk public health, disgraceful and immoral.

Turned up at around 6pm to take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out offer. Had crispy seaweed, Shredded Crispy Chicken and Steamed Rice.The service was nice and friendly and the restaurant was traditional looking in a nice way.All very good for a local. On a side note they brought the my started at the same time at the main course, which may have been within five minutes.

Perplexed by the reviews stating the food is of good quality and best in the area, and the current 4.0 rating. I walked in to make a takeaway order. The sweet and sour pork and chicken and cashew nut were passable but couldn't be shared by more than two people. The biggest disappointment was the special fried rice, which is supposed to be a staple Chinese takeaway dish. The small amount of meat and shrimp had been in the wok, but the rice seemed like it was taken from frozen egg fried rice mix from the wholesaler, microwaved and stirred in. It had not been fried in any meaningful way. So it's not fried rice!

Awful experience. I don’t often write reviews but Peking Chef Ruined my Saturday night.I live locally and have ordered from them four times before. The first three times were fine. On the fourth occasion, I ordered my food at 6:30pm. It was due to arrive before 8pm. At 8pm I chased Just Eat and was told it would be delivered at 8:25pm, two hours after ordering. It got to 9pm the food still had not arrived. I rang the restaurant three times between 8pm and 9pm and no one answered. The food eventually arrived 2.5 hours after ordering it at just after 9pm, and it was cold. It wasn’t even lukewarm but was stone cold so I presume it had been sat around for over an hour.I finally got through to the restaurant at around 9:30pm. I asked to speak to the manager to seek a refund but she refused to speak to me. The assistant said she could not do anything as she did not have authority to give me a full refund. She offered me 25% off but I explained that no customer should expect to pay 75% for a meal that was extremely late and cold. She said the manager would call me back. I called an hour later and the manager still refused to speak to me. I explained that they clearly do not have respect for their customers if they deliver food an hour late, 2.5 hours after being ordered and it was delivered cold. I was told the manger would call me back. Of course, four days later, she still hasn’t.I could have accepted an apology, and that this was a once off as we have ordered in the past and it’s been fine. I may have even ordered again in the future if they explained they were having a bad day and offered to refund me. However, the fact that the manager simply refused to deal with my complaint or offer a refund is in my view extremely poor customer service. So essentially, if you are unlucky enough to have a similar experience to me, you can be rest assured that Peking Chef will do nothing about it.

The food here is wonderful, especially considering the prices. It's served in such a high end way, all sizzling in a pot- I love it! The staff are always friendly and it's been such a great and social place to come with friends and family. The food has great portions AND tastes amazing! Sometimes I wish they'd bring the food out all at once, but it still comes surprisingly quickly! Brilliant place.

The food in this shop is exquisite! Not once have they disappointed me. Although, today I ordered food at 8:52pm. They estimated the food will arrive at 9:42pm. The food came at 10:30pm, when everyone was already asleep. The women was very polite and apologetic since they were busy. Sadly, we returned the food and didn't take it since there was no point in waking everybody up to eat. Next time we'd like a message informing us that the food will be arriving late.

Had a horrible experience with Peking Chef. Food arrived several hours late with no update or explanation from the resturant. When the food finally arrived it was cold. The restaurant staff was not helpful when called and asked where the food was and when they were told food was cold. Would stay away from Peking Chef.

I Came here today for the first time with my partner and the kids.. Couldn't be happier!! The ladies and the young boys customer service skills was Excellent.. To top it of its only the best Chinese we have ever had deffinetly going back with my family next week absolutely amazing 10/10 for food 10/10 hygein 10/10 for customer service skills!!

Their food was quite nice. When I was there on a Saturday evening they clearly couldn't cope with running the place as a restaurant and take away shop. I felt neglected various times and had to keep reminding them that I had ordered drinks because they were all running around like headless chickens trying to deal with their takeaway customers. We were the only two in the restaurant and were made to feel like we weren't even there.The restaurant looked also neglected with minimal table decor and not even basic essentials laid out.They either need more stuff or need to just concentrate on being a take away service because it was frustrating trying to dine there.
