Sam's in Waltham Forest

Don't like leaving negative reviews but had to share my experience with Sam's Fish&Chips.This place is close to where I'm staying (less than 5 mins walking) looked alright, reviews looked ok so found it on just eat. £11 for cod made me think twice but I figured its either got to be a massive bit of fish or great quality to justify the price.It was also stated on just eat that fish is skinless.I ordered the fish and some chips. The food arrived about 25 mins later and out of the bag it was cold. As mentioned, the place is 5 mins away so no good reason for it to turn up cold. Chips didn't have any salt and vinegar either, to be fair I didn't state I wanted s&v as there wasn't anywhere on JE to do so, but who doesn't want salt and vinegar on a portion of chips?The infamous £11 fish was not one piece of fish but 3 equally soggy pieces of fish - all with skin on.So neither fish not chips got eaten and I'm still hungry.I contacted restaurant and was told to get a refund through just eat. That's fine, if just eat give me the refund but have to wait days to find out if they will or not.Is this the norm now where restaurants can get orders wrong, serve up rubbish quality food and palm you off to a third party for a refund?I don't live round here so no chance of ordering again but heads up if you are in the area and fancy fish and chips, find somewhere else.

What's happened Sams?? Have been getting our fish & chips from you for years, but the last two weeks the food has not been good. Dried up fish, crispy hard chips like they've been there all day & cold.

Food is great here just a shame about the customer service the young lady taking the order needs to have some sort of manners and learn to serve with some sort of friendliness

Lovely fish and chips everytime, comes with an impeccable side of excellent customer service and attention to customer service. Thank you for my cod and the extra one because you weren't satisfied with it and valued custom over a quick sell!

Good, crisp fish, great portions, friendly, efficient staff. My favourite in the area - in spite of an award winning shop 200m away. Often pick up OAP portions for my mother and friends - they love it too. Recommended. Also try Scoffs nextdoor for more cafe-type things.

Since the refurbishment the place looks good and the fish is cooked fresh rather than like some others and the portion of chips are great PS lovely friendly staff.

Huge cod and good sized chips for reasonable price and well cooked. Had a kebab twice... first one was barely browned, second one nicely browned, so will reserve judgement on that for now. Overall one of the better chips shops I've been to though.

Lovely fish and chips, we've had takeaway a few times and called up before and then collected. Always a nice treat, friendly service and good sized generous portions - would recommend! A good location just down Station Road walking distance from Chingford Overground Station :)

Fish and chips was very nice and fresh!! Portions were also big .. large fish and chips done 2 of us.
