Alma in Wandsworth

We were very happy staying here for two nights. The staff were really friendly and efficient, the breakfast and evening meal was great, the room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. All in all an excellent stay. We will be back!

Came in on a quiet Sunday evening. Inattentive staff, food came out cold, had to repeatedly wave down staff to be served despite the place being nearly empty, never checked food was good after being served (it wasnt), never had a check back for a second round of drinks. Waited a long time after table was cleared to ask for the bill.One to avoid…

COLD FOOD!!! On a COLD morningI went in for a Sunday morning brunch and I as served what looked like a delicious eggs Benedict with bacon . It came out a bit quick. The reason cold poached eggs covered in cold hollandaise all good quality but clearly sitting on the pass waiting for a customer and not cooked fresh. Very disappointing made worse by the fact that when I brought it back the chef lied and insisted he had cooked it fresh. ( I know congealed hollandaise and cold egg yolk, can’t happen in under 5 minutes so it was sitting there when we arrived )Very insulting as there were only 4 other customers as it was a very cold morning and clearly some food had been prepared early. A really bad experience made worse by dishonesty in what is normally a good food place.My partners full English was good and clearly the reason for the cold Benedict is that it was waiting for the full English to be cooked. A little bit of advice be more mature don’t lie to customers who would otherwise be happy to wait for a fresh plate please.I left hungry and ate in Konnigan’s up the road where I got excellent food, good honest service and it was freshly cooked.

Whilst I do quite like this pub, and have had good food when eating there on previous occasions, I have to say that the Brunch Burger is very average and uninspiring. The “sausage patty” was just a couple of sausages cut in half, the “streaky bacon” wasn’t streaky, and the “tomato” was a slice of the least tasteful tomato I’ve ever experienced. All of this was inserted into a brioche bun but with no sauce or anything else to bind the ingredients together. It tasted okay, but there are far better options available.

This was the pub my dad's family used to drink in back in the day. Was on a nostalgia trip of the area and thought I'd visit The Alma. Food was great but for me there was very little ambience or atmosphere and certainly no history.

Great movie themed pub close to newington green, with a great selection of beers, food and board games. It also has a small garden out in the back.

One of the last old traditional pub. Everything is clean and very comfortable and comfortable place to eat or drink. Staff are very polite and helpful. Manager too. Toilets are always clean and there are plenty of seating outside. Shows the sports too. Right opposite Wandsworth station.

Went for Sunday roast. Food was quite good but had wait close to an hour for it and the Yorkshire pudding was a bit burnt. Rest of the flavours were good and the place otherwise seemed nice.

Disgusting is all I can say. The Young's Special was cloudy warm and undrinkable. So let's try the Young's Original we'll as you can see from my picture it's not going to be any good too. The poor barman "bless" did not have a clue and his lady supervisor was no help and totally useless.

Classic English pub and great location in the heart of the borough. Great ambience, loads of seating both outside and inside. Staff is nice and efficient. Prices on the higher side but wide variety of food options and they taste great. Best enjoyed outside in a group with lots of beer flowing!
