What a wonderful experience! Habib was amazing - it was my friend’s birthday and he brought out a dessert and sang happy birthday to her without even being asked. Delicious food and lovely ambience. Would recommend to anyone up for a fun night!

Great Asian food and a good atmosphere. The staff and service were both excellent and attentive in what was a busy restaurant. Surfaces were carefully cleaned between customers. Prices are moderate especially for London. Would definitely visit the Banana Tree again. They also cater well for vegans and vegetarians.

My favourite restaurant! I've been coming here for years and hands down one of my favourite restaurants.SERVICEAll the staff are lovely and I've never had any issues. They are always prompt with their service and give good recommendations. The last time I arrived, they seemed to have quite a few reservations as it was a Saturday evening, but they promptly found a space for a friend and I. They gave us a tip in regards to the cocktail, advising to order a pitcher instead individuals because it's more cost effective. They were attentive, filling up our water regularly and clearing the table. When my friend wasn't sure of a side for her meal the manager advised on a special fried rice that was A*.FOODThe food never misses a beat. Always immaculately seasoned with wonderful flavour. My favourite dish is the Laksa Soup with prawns, a coconut based soup with delicious fluffly tofu that soaks up all the flavour. The calamari was to die for. Coated evenly, and cooked so that it wasn't chewy, which is how it can be in other establishments. The accompanying sauce was mouth watering. I also opted for the fried fish which, once again, cooked to perfection with vegetables. I couldn't finish it and took it home and it was still so tasty reheated later on. My friend ordered a chicken dish with a mixed fried rice with cashew nuts. I'd say the best rice dish I've had in a couple years. The portions are satisfying and the standard of flavour and cook, of a high standard.DRINKSWe ordered a pitcher of a cocktail and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. It gave us at least 3 glasses each and was refreshing and a delight. My favourite thing about this restaurant is that they don't have an overwhelmingly large menu, but what they do, they do it to a high standard and that's what makes a place standard. Choose something and perfect it.As a local, I've visited on my own, with friends, been there for occasions and just a grab a lunch bite. The atmosphere is lovely, quaint with low ceilings and warm lighting. My only criticisms are , there isn't a ton of room and if you're sat next to people who are being loud it can be quite difficult to enjoy the conversation in front of you. Also, the toilets are up a very steep set of stairs, which isn't accessible friendly to those who cannot use them or have trouble with them.Would certainly recommend and will definitely be back.

Although I've never been to this place, I think it's worth mentioning that in December 1979 it was a site for shooting some scenes for the Polish cult comedy Teddy Bear (Miś). Back then it used to be a grocer's. Cheers!

Indo-Chinese food serving noodles, rice, char-grilled chicken. The taste is good and I’m amazed how similar it taste like the ones in Asia. The noodle I’ve ordered was Singapore Laksa. It’s not spicy and less thick but portion is good with chicken. Will definitely visit again.

If you're looking for a place to grab solid Asian food for a very reasonable price and far service this is the place for you.My only real gripe is the bare concrete walls which make it a very noisy place to be if it's busy.I had the house special fried noodles with chicken and prawns. Very tasty.

Service was a bit slow. We waited about 15 minutes for a drink order, but the food was nice. Calamari was delicious.

Great place to go with the kids, it's not chips, it's not burgers and it's not pizza and they lap it up. They love the spring rolls for the veggies and chicken satay for the carnivores, and always try a different main (big enough to share) to varying success.
