Amazing hidden gem, have been here many times and literally never had a bad experience or meal. Couldn't recommend more!French onion soup and steak tartare an absolute must and the wine list is excellent and exceptionally well priced. 10/10

So pleased but not surprised Walter has weathered the pandemic. French cuisine with delightful touches.Deferential service . Traditional French terrace and interior with areas designed to make couples groups and families feel welcome and relaxed.

We went for our Christmas Lunch because their Putney restaurant was closed. Set menu was good and we all chose the Chateaubriand which was excellent. A big thank you to the staff who gave up their Christmas day and served us with a big friendly smile.

This place is simply superb: to this day I am at a loss how can they serve such high quality food, superbly cooked and presented, at such rock-bottom prices. If you love gastronomy, go there now - just do yourself a favour. As a former award-winning Chef, I actually know what I am writing about. Go there, enjoy the food (and superb service), and thank me later.

My first visit to Gazette, which had come highly recommended. I had my heart set on moules frites, while my wife ordered cockerel, from the set lunch. A steaming bowl of mussels arrived and while the cockerel looked good, it was very undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. I pressed on with the mussels but found half weren't open at all and it was a struggle to get into the others. Inside the shell, the contents was tough, pale and didn't smell great - not the sweet, juicy gems I had hoped for. The staff agreed these were also undercooked and took them away to be replaced, despite my appeals that having been put off, I couldn't stomach any more.A fresh cooked cockerel arrived, which was far better than the first, along with another bowl of mussels. However, despite these now being fully cooked, they were still the worst I have tasted and I couldn't face them. The desert and cheese served after were both good but that couldn't redeem the meal from being one of the worst I've had.Such a shame, as I know plenty of people who have loved eating here. Probably just a really bad day in the kitchen but that said, the service wasn't great either. Lots of apologies from the manager, along with the token gesture of only charging for a small portion of mussels, which took a measly £4 off the bill. I doubt I will be returning any time soon.

I've been to the Gazette multiple times. Always good however this time it was somewhat disappointing. The fries were undercooked (this was addressed quickly by the staff though).Oysters were really good. The escargots were a touch overcooked, rubbery and missing that pungent garlic taste. The wine choice is always great and the dessert fabulous.

The food deserves a high four stars and is presented well and flavoursome. The location itself is not particularly attractive and the bathroom wasn't as clean as you'd expect in restaurant charging these prices. The staff were perhaps overly efficient which so this made us feel slightly rushed.

Went for brunch. We were probably one of the first guests in the day, so it took some time for the food to arrive. There was also a very loud construction next door. So overall, we were getting a bit agitated being hungry, waiting in the loud noise. But once the food arrived, just completely forgot that there was any noise to begin with. For my dish, the potatoes were amazingly buttery, the cheese was plenty and melted beautifully on the baguette - overall a fantastic breakfast. Also ordered steak and duck from here before for delivery. The presentation was less nice by the time it got delivered, but the flavours were still amazing.

Went here for breakfast and had a fantastic experience. Staff were all top notch, food was amazing and reasonably priced for London. Will definitely head back.

Held a birthday dinner here last night. The food was excellent and the staff were great. The refurbished downstairs and expanded terrace are great. We had the wine cellar room where the ambience is just wonderful. Well done Gazette
