As a Putney resident only for the last 7 months or so, this has been my absolutely favorite place, my home away from home. I have taken work colleagues, visitors from out of town, and non-work local friends to dine here, and will keep doing so, time after time. Their bavette with shallots & jus is my absolute favorite in London; and don't even get me started on the number of times I've come in with a small party to demolish a few lobsters as the Thursday night special. The manager and his team are top-notch, and always make me feel like I am welcome despite being an American barbarian visiting a French brasserie in London town. I sincerely love them for it, every one of them.

The food here is delicious and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Not the cheapest but you can tell it's good value for what you get. There are deals each night of the week which would likely make some if the specialties easier to budget for too. Will definitely return!

The food, the service! What can I say. We were greeted by a charming Italian gentleman from Tuscany! His quirky service is just what I like along with the polite and pleasant waiting staff! The food is to die for I can’t pick out a star from the 6 items me and my girlfriend ordered but the scallops are to die for. Would recommend with all my heart and will be back with friends!

Our local go-to French restaurant. The New Year's Eve menu was a bit pricey at £68/person but a change from what every other restaurant offered.

Omg - we had such an amazing anniversary dinner there!! They have a lobster special on Thursdays and offer Thermidor on pre-order. I called up in the morning as I made my reservation when they were already closed. The manager said that unfortunately Thermidor required a 24 hour per-order which I understand. But when we arrived there in the evening he said he spoke to the chef and was able to arrange one for us! What an amazing detail and gesture! We had Oysters (superb), grilled Foje Gras (as terrine had run out) - also fabulous and then steak tartare and the lobster. They prepare the tartare by the table - the French style. Really good. I work in hospitality and my partner lived in France and we’re really hard to impress but Simon and his team made our anniversary really special and this was one of the best meals (at a very good value) that we had in a while. Also worth to mention they’re specials on Mondays (Chateaubriand), Tuesdays (Oysters) and obviously Thursdays (Lobster). Can’t wait to be back!

Overall, this place is okay. Now that I have tried it I wouldn't really go back nor would I recomend. As a group of four we all ordered the Chateaubriand as it was part of the Monday offer (reduced from £28 to £16). It was tasty, albeit small. I had asked mine to be cooked medium rare and it was perhaps a shade too rare for me. My fiend on the othe rhand had asked for hsi to be cooked medium to well done and he said it was a bit too well done. I understand that these are preferences but when you are paying as much as we did - including a very overpriced bottle of wine - it just adds amivalence to the dining exerience. In fairness teh rest of the menu looked lovely but we perhaps wouldn't rush back in a hurry.

Not a bad restaurant but a few things to mention. The menu in the Google pictures isn't the same, especially the prices. This is misleading. Cosy atmosphere, with an intense kitchen smell everywhere, the service was good and friendly, the food was decent (I expected better) and the portions of the side were quite small. The fruit smoothy was great! Overall it wasn't bad, but for the price we paid I wouldn't go back.

Such a lovely French treat! We haven't visited here over 2 years and found it much better than it used to be. interior got lighter and even it is a small (and long) restaurant, we saw it gets spacious.Food we had were all good. You may find the portion, considering the price, a bit small. But as it is rich food, for us, all were perfect. It serves breakfast to dinner, so you can choose pancake to steak. Service is fantastic, in particular the manager (or owner). I hardly find good service in London, so very happy about the entire experience. It seems it is not so wheelchair friendly, but please check with restaurant. We love to revisit this place.

Our first meal out after lockdown and we had a fabulous meal as always at Gazette. Wonderful service, authentic French experience, and amazing food. Our favourite special occasion restaurant in Putney. So glad these guys are still on their feet and going strong.
