Outside area is amazing, indoors is well laid out too. Just a shame that there doesn’t seem to be much attention paid to keeping tables clear, especially outside.

Very noisy, didn't enjoy at all. Found myself shouting to make myself heard over other voices. Pub is on three levels, and serves food, toilets down stairs, not sure if they have any on ground level. Nice decor and staff friendly. Great hang out for 30 somethings and younger!

Delicious food! We ordered the vegan burger and braised eggplant, both really tasty. Tricky to get a table on a Friday night so definitely book ahead. Good selection of wine and beers and fairly cosy ambiance. Glad we stumbled across this little pub!

Went on Saturday night. Live singer was fun. No one sits in late evening hours, so it's not a 'quiet drink' place Best to order bottles. Staff is very slow and not enough of them for weekend nights. Receptionist was rather cold and not helpful. Service is rather poor. Dirty tables. When waitress arrived to clean up, she sprayed the cleaning spray on 3 of us and then told us: You should watch yourselves ... Rather rude. Lost an item and called in about it. Receptionist was rather blazee and not helpful. Not impressed. Not my first option in Balham for drinks.

Broken sofa frame means you collapse backwards as you sit (even before getting the right side of a few). The shelf behind is perfect height to hit the back of your head. They don't seem too obsessive about health & safety. That fits with the relaxed and quirky atmosphere. I like it. A little different and not too polished. Decent beer, friendly & helpful staff and reasonable prices are a bonus.

Despite it's spot on the (high quality) pecking order of Balham's pubs somewhere near the bottom due to an obvious lack of investment in it's décor, the reality is that this is one of the most reliable places around!The drinks prices are lower than most, the staff are always friendly and helpful, they have loads of sport on (and unlike the Regent you don't have to book a table a month before to squeeze in), and the food is fairly solid!Won't let you down, hope it stays on the high street for a long time to come.

Big bar with a number of different spaces. Good for late night weekends in Balham. We enjoyed the live music on Friday - a while since we have been to a singalong.
