Easily the best restaurant in Tooting and surrounding area. Amazing fresh cooked food with excellent service

Really outstanding food. The quality of the ingredients shines through and it is a gem of proper cooking.

Today was my partners birthday and as a special treat I booked a table for two at Rick's Café. I'd been there before but not for many years having moved away from the area. I'm delighted to say as good as it was then, it is even better now. Our starters were the fabada asturiana (a type of Spanish cassoulet) and the lobster and hake croquettes. Both mouth wateringly delicious. My main courses was chicken milanese and each mouthful was a series of taste explosions accompanied by a wonderfully garlic spaghetti. My partner had the brill, beautifully cooked and presented, served with a saffron beaurre blanc and again quite delicious. Puddings were also exceptional. Sticky toffee pudding and an apple and blackberry crumble. Rick, we are coming back for more....

Amazing place. A little diamond in the rough. Highly recommended. Food is amazing. atmosphere was relaxed. Service was fantastic. Definitely will be returning.

Lovely food, cosy unpretentious interior. Chef came out to chat to us and we enjoyed a drink with him. Recommended it to my parents and they loved it too. Really recommend!

Awful place, small portions and clearly frozen fish.The place seemed charming and inviting from the outside and have heard mixed views from local people so I thought I would check it out for myself.Absolutely awful, waitress awkwardly flirting and clearly making a mans wife feel uncomfortable on the table next to us, a random guy sitting in the corner drunk and drinking tequila by himself until what I assume was the owner who joined him. The owner was wandering around with arrogance I’ve only ever seen in Simon Cowell, sitting on people’s tables and being weird then smoking outside in his chef whites and then returning to the restaurant touching plates and serving without washing hands. We chose not to stay for any longer as we felt like we were in someone’s living room - It’s a complete shambles that should be closed down. A shame as the area would benefit from a quality independent restaurant.

We had a lovely dinner here the for the first time. Staff are very attentive and caring, food amazing too. We will be back.

Really LOVE this place!!!! Totally amazing!!!! Such a gem!!!! Chef owned (by Rick and his charming wife Sarah) so everything is fantastic!! They cater for vegetarians too!!! Everything was delicious- 5 star quality for sure. The ambience and decor is super relaxing. I love it!!! Going back again for the third time with a whole group of foodie pals. Yup I’m that confident!!!!! If you’re having a party they’ll even stay open late- none of that kicking you out lark- they’re so sweet!!!! You’ve really got to try it!!!!!

Had a great midweek dinner out @Ricks Dining Room - relaunched in Feb2019. Tooting’s original bistro is back on form. Classic dishes done well. (By the way, I am currently working FOH on weekends so I am somewhat biased, but great food and service speaks will always itself). Worth booking ahead!

Eaten here a few times...food is consistently good ..great neighbourhood bistro ; great food ...the fish very fresh x the beetroot chocolate brownie was also amazing. Good wine list. Amazing service where you as a local are treated as a local!
