As we entered the picturesque, little, quaint town of Kirkcudbright, we felt at home. On entering the restaurant we were met with a very warm and accommodating welcome. Even the chef himself came out to greet us with a warm smile. Service was top notch and the food was on another level. Rarely have I tasted such rich and flavoursome offerings, prepared and served quickly, above and beyond what I have previously sampled in a few luxury establishments. Highly recommended

Beautiful food, the chef clearly takes pride in the dishes he prepares and serves. An interesting small menu which focuses on local fresh produce with a French twist on Scottish dishes.A little gem of a place where you need to book days or weeks in advance, feel fortunate to have eaten here.

All 3 courses absolutely brilliant and a nice choice of local beers. Well worth trying to get a table for.

This is probably the best place to eat in Kirkcudbright. The menu is original and imaginative. All in all very enjoyable and good value.

Fabulous food! The St. Clement's dessert I had last week was one of the best puddings I have ever had. Sublime!

If you read the reviews it often states "best food in town", this may be accurate, however it doesn't say much for the other establishments in town. May have just been a bad night when we were there, but at least the staff gave a good performance, it could have made a very entertaining scetch show! Fine dining it's not, but if you lower your expectations then you will be fine enough.

Located up steep stairs in the centre of Kirkcudbright, The Auld Alliance pitches "Scottish Cuisine with a French Influence" . Food and wine excellent, service a bit slow, but the place was rammed. Will be back.

Very good food at reasonable prices. The restaurant is upstairs and is fairly small. I went with the chef's recommendations and was pleased with the quality of the offerings but could have easily demolished what the rest of my table ordered. Very pleasant evening. Well worth a visit.
