Culgruff House in Dumfries & Galloway

The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was superb, a proper Scottish breakfast.

Spotlessly clean, fabulous breakfast if I could I would go back but sadly I was the last official guest. Thank you for your lovely hospitality and good luck in your new venture x some photos from area.

Visited briefly in May 2021, Rude manager with a chip on his shoulder, lets the area down from an otherwise lovely week in Scotland.

Lovely welcome and enjoyed our stay under the circumstances with the main hotel closed because of covid. Manager was very helpful.

Only managed to stop for a very swift pint after a thirsty days work. Warm and friendly pub with a very welcoming landlord. My friend and I enjoyed a well deserved pint and the Best didn't let us down. Great pub and I'll certainly visit again.

Jim was absolutely great with our kids.. in the depressing time of corona he made us all feel safe and happy and supplied us with HUGE portions of fine food to fuel our half term holiday activities! The younger kids meals were free as well! Will remember this place next time we are staying in loch Ken. Tapadh leabh to you Jim.

We have visited The Thistle Inn a few times now when we come to Loch Ken. The food is outstanding, delicious and value for money. Jim is a great fella, full of fun and mischief and so very friendly. Great place. We will be back.

Visited here a couple times in my weeks stay in Crossmichael and was made to feel so welcome.Really nice landlord and wife, giving great local advice on what to do (like running up Skrell Hill, do it).Sunday roast was also lovely.Definitely worth a visit.
