Dante's Fish, Chips And Kebab in Dumfries & Galloway

The only place open for a kebab pre-4pm in Dumfries or Carlisle. Absolutely knocked it out of the park with an XL kebab and a perfectly battered fish supper. These boys know what they're doing. Recommended.

It was absaloutely rubbish most food was pink and always throw up was dripping in grease and the haggis was cold in the middle

Rude staff, below standard food quality,Late delivery. Ordered chicken pakora and a dinner kebab thinking can’t go wrong but indeed I was wrong. Pakora tasted like it had been fried 3x over, I dread to think… donner meet was dry and imparts resembled beef jerky like it’s been sat out for ages then re heated. Phoned to ask where my delivery was and was simply told on its way and he hung up before I had a chance to say anything. Notorious it seems in Dumfries for being possibly the worst takeaway in the town now, but for some reason I thought to try it again… well never again! If you are going to order from here at least order from just eat because at least then you have someone to go back to and possibly get a refund, you’ll get nout off this lot!

This is honestly one of the worst places you could eat at. My sister ordered pizza to share with her baby who's only 9 months old. Shes eating the pizza and cracks her tooth because there was a staple in her pizza. She then went looking through the other slices and found another one. They phoned up and the worker/Manager was having a go at her boyfriend because they phoned up, The manager ended up hanging up on him and is refusing a refund. I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here.

2 hours later, I got the coldest wettest chips and parmo ever. £15 all in totally fine but for this… I called twice to see where it was on the second time before I could say hello and offer to fetch after checking my maps it was only 3 mins drive around the corner (I’m not local) I got Laura it’s coming very rude man. The Dante in Middlesbrough is amazing but this place what a horrible let down.

The worst customer servise i have ever experienced. Apparently the name is same as Dantes in Carlisle, we have purchased few burgers by mistake, so exactly 2 minutes later i have phoned the shop to cancel the order.Someone wery rude and arugant sayd there is no chance of cancelling the order as burgers are on the grill ...2 minutes later. Will not recommend

Only called here as couldn't find anywhere else open .... Can't see myself returning sorry ... Two Donner kebabs, sausage and chips came to £21.00 .... No salad or sauce on kebabs and the smallest portion sizes I've ever seen .... Not for me sorry ....I've given a 1star just Purley because they were open .

Food is decent when you get it. Often the delivery takes twice as long as it says. A few times they miss things off your order like the cans or chips with your meal deals but tonight its a whole pizza. 2 phonecalls and 90mins later...still hasnt arrived. So only half of the family has eaten!!Avoid this place if you can't collect in person.

Really enjoyed the fish supper I had three nights ago - The large piece of haddock,which had big flakes, was coated in a thin batter, which allowed for the coating to be thoroughly cooked through, and the cooking 'liquid' was obviously so clean because the cooked batter was a light golden colour supplementing the perfectly cooked fish, and the chips, soft in the centre and crispy on the edges, the best chip shop chips I have tasted in Dumfries to date!A small negative comment would be that the chips were placed in the cardboard box a tad too early, presumably only because the fryer was waiting for the cooking of the fish to the high desired standard, however, I would not let such a minor issue affect my great eating experience.Highly recommend for a value for money fish supper 😋, and, will be back to try other dishes on the menu.
