Kirkcudbright Bay Hotel in Dumfries & Galloway

I enjoyed the meal I had here - a Spanish menu provided a nice twist although the patatas bravas could have been crisper.

Five star all the way. What a fantastic hotel. My wife and I stayed there while on a sight seeing break.This is a family owned and run hotel that offered us really good service. The produce was top grade and cooked to perfection.The room we stayed in was well decorated, good facilities that worked and a comfortable bed.The area is beautiful for walking or cycling all year.I would highly recommend the Kirkcudbright Bay Hotel and it's restaurant.We loved this hotel and the town so much that we bought it. (March 2019)My wife, Lisa and I now run it with a great team.

Spent a pleasant afternoon here for a few drinks. Staff were really welcoming and friendly as were the locals. Great spot and will certainly visit again.

Had 2 meals steak was tough, sauce was watery for both meals. Not good value. Service was good.

Service is very good. Food could be better. Deep fried food needs cooked a little longer or at hotter temperature. Food is full of grease inside the batter. Nice tasting food but chef needs to learn to use the deep fat fryer correctly.

Appalling service in the bland, and soulless restaurant.After a wait of 40 minutes after ordering I had to ask where our food was. Within a few minutes out it came the ‘special of the day’ goulash and my wife’s scampi.The goulash was tepid served with the remnants of a bag of frozen broccoli, limp and also cold and only recognisable by the smell, 4 quarters of a roast potato that looked like they had sat at the bottom of an oven for hours!When I complained about having to wait for so long to be served garbage the waitress untrained in dealing with complaints called the manager. Her explanation for this was they had a trainee chef!I agreed to have scampi as a replacement which was served to me within 3 minutes. I think this time they simply reused all the uneaten food from returned plates. In my life this is the only time I’ve had peas of 2 distinct different colours on the same portion!Totally disgusting, depressing food even more depressing room and untrained staff including the manager who are barely scraping along at pretending to run a hotel and restaurant. There are other hotels and restaurants in Kircudbright who excel and would recommend you find an alternative to this joke of an establishment.

We had a lovely meal served by extremely helpful staff members. Every time the kitchen door opened wildly, we were greeted with a big smile from a pot washer. I would recommend eating here as the food is amazing. Yum yum!

Arrived, looking for somewhere to lunch with two families and a very anxious child. The staff could not have done more to help and they raided us with a safe, relaxed environment and excellent food. Cannot rate highly enough.
