The food at Nikos Greek restaurant in Castle Douglas is really delicious & very reasonably priced too.My friend & I meet there once a month & often enjoy the nice meze selections ~ but this time we chose the Greek salad, grilled halloumi with balsamic dressing & orzo with sun dried tomatoes 🍅 garlic & onions 🌰 ~ all so delicious as well as healthy!The staff there are so nice & friendly ~ always helpful & make us feel most welcome ~ nothing is too much trouble for them.We're looking forward so much to going back next month.

First visit to Nikos and what a pleasant experience. Enthusiastic and welcoming waiting staff who were keen to help. Took some time to check out the menu ... more like a book. Large selection of small plates as well as pizza and a good range of deserts. Also for those who are Veggie, Vegan or need Gluten free options there is a great selection. All the food was of a high standard and prepared with care by the Chef/owner. A great find and will certainly visit again when back in the area

Oh my. What an amazing experience. We travelled 60 miles for this visit, and we were not disappointed. We ordered several dishes from the Mezze menu, including the wild boar, which was so good, with a beautiful rich sauce, we had it twice. We also enjoyed a fantastic pizza, refreshing Greek salad, stifado, souvlaki, succulent mushrooms, and a warm trio of artisan breads. All finished off with amazing baclava and we took home a bottle of cinnamon cordial and takeaway garlic bread. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant experience.

2nd time here and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. Food is really tasty and enjoyable and gives you a real taste of Greece. Well done to the young staff who were friendly and polite. Credit too them.

You kindly responded to my daughters review; Hannah Barnard. I would like to reply to that response.It was I that asked the waiter the questions, first one being, why was the service so slow? The waiter never mentioned staff shortages , there were six staff members and we were the first to arrive, another 2 individuals arrived afterwards. My second question, was the size of the portions, as having looked at your photos on the website, they are misleading, as it shows the portions to be plentiful. So if asking a question is deemed unpleasant, then this should be mentioned when folk arrive. My comments couldn’t have been that unpleasant, as they accepted my financial tip!You have stated, on previous poor reviews , that you would have addressed the customers if they had commented at the time. You were in the restaurant, but never approached our table. Your providing a service to the paying public, therefore we can ask a question about the service being provided, good, bad or indifferent.As stated on the night;The service was slow.The portions are smaller than those pictured on the website.The food provided was great.Therefore my dining experience is a three star review.

Really nice food and atmosphere, we got the valentines meal deal and was very pleased. Great value great food great staff. Greek style tapas, lots of fun.

Fantastic mezze served by fantastic staff. Cannot recommend this place enough. The restaurant itself is lovely and even though they were full it never felt overly noisy or too busy and the serving staff were all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Nikos. Big thanks to all the staff!

Loved this place, wish we lived closer so we could go again. Was in the area visiting family and booked this place for a meal out. 4 adults and 2 kids. The staff were friendly and helpful and the menu is great, plenty of choice and good prices. The food was delivered to the table looking and smelling great, then we ate and it was amazing! Will and do highly recommend, and next time we are in the area we will definitely be going here again.

Fantastic authentic Greek Meze, served freshly made. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Worth a second visit!

A really good experience, a nice selection of Greek meze dishes for good prices a real touch of Greece, portions not massive but that's how it should be, choose a couple of meze dish options and you won't be disappointed, specials available as well...highly recommended
