Palmerston Cafe in Dumfries & Galloway

Not good today, stoped there at 4pm and got a fish supper, sausage supper,single fish and a kids meal. Very disappointed the chips were very dry and crispy,think they were from the day before. The batter on fish and sausage was up to much either and to top it of all this came to over £20. Usually use the chip shop on the Annan road which is of much higher quality,but is closed for refurbishment. Won't be back to Palmerston Cafe!!!

Was recommended by a friend to give this place a shot.Glad I did as myself and my wife stopped here after our weekly shop at the nearby Tesco store.We chose the eat in option and weren't disappointed.The fish and chip supper was excellent and value for money allied to the table service provided by the staff on duty.Will definitely visit here again and try something else on their extensive menu.

I've dined in here a few times and honestly some of the best fish n chips and fantastic ice-cream I've ever had, it's such a shame they don't deliver! Please please please get on a delivery app soon! I'm dying to eat your food more often.

Best chippy in town! Fresh and tasty! Would recommend to anyone visiting Dumfries! Have a large selection of delicious ice creams too! Fish supper is to die for ;)

The food was nice, too much curry sauce, not enough chips. Need to change the tea to a better brand. Feel like they are trying to be something they are not with the silly baskets. Guys, ditch the baskets and the government bull about portion distortion and go back to doing what you did best. Serve good, large portions on plates again.

Wasn't as good last visit. Woman asked for a burger unbattered got it what looked like batter on it. Waitress said its just way comes out fryer. I tasted it and was batter? My burger that asked for in batter was really greasy

Fish and chips were delicious, served by friendly staff and efficiently. Food was piping hot and freshly made. Shop was busy but didn't wait long. And OMG...... the number of ice ream flavours to pick from is AMAZING..... Definitely need to go back to try one sometime....only problem will be what one to pick.
