Pizza Express in Dumfries & Galloway

Awful visitStaff avoided eye contact so long wait for someone else's starter we think meant we had ours - so no starter before pizza came and confusion. Childs pasta, although so late child would never like it anyway, was not attractive - burnt pasta from keeping warm while they forgot the rest of the order. Pizza tasted nice, although one pretty cold, so extra star. Not charged for dough balls that came so late that they missed purpose of keeping kids happy before dinner. Just not a great service experience at all - staff so intent on chatting in the corner and and avoiding the paying customers we couldn't wait to get out - can you donate the cost of remaining child meal stuff we never got to a charity please. Have always liked pizza express, that you are next to a kitchen cafe style outlet should make you a superior choice which means you should stay consistent to the brand. And before you say you should have said - we tried, even 2 year old tried to get attention of a server shouting we want to go. - edit, I did send e-mail as requested and no reply.

Visited today. Restaurant very clean and staff very polite & friendly. Food freshly prepared and cooked, delicious. Reasonably priced.

Waited 45 mins for 1 pizza, then disgusted when it came, large hole in the middle, and rocket leaves in the space, it was supposed to be king prawn, there were 5 small prawns on it, don't waste your money !

Last minute booking on app. So easy and straightforward to use. Instant confirmation. Got reward too (free dough balls with garlic butter). Very friendly staff at Gretna, Caledonia Park which made it a lovely experience. The restaurant was clean, and had a lovely ambience about it. Families and couples and groups there. Loads of parking available too.Would definately recommend Pizza Express, Gretna 5*

Had dough ball starters to share, kids had kids 3 course offer of dough balls mini pizza and choice of mini dessert.I had the king prawn pizza my wife had the bbq burnt ends both were on Romano bases and were very nice. Pudding i had a white chocolate and lemon roulade which was OK but not great. Restaurant wise good layout plenty of room, decor was good if sparse, wasn't busy at first but was shortly after our mains arrived. Quality overall was good but not amazing and overpriced by at least £5 a head.

The best pizza we have ever had,we will definitely go back & the staff were really lovely too ,the whole experience was amazing ,well done to Pizza Express at Gretna gateway xx

If I could give no stars I would. The staff were inattentive and rude. They made no attempt to check back at any time. I don’t think they know how to check a food ticket before serving food also. We were given the wrong starters and then when we finally got the attention of a server, she decided to leave one starter the only one being correct. Then taking the others to be made rather than taking all and bringing them back at the same time. We had to tell her take all of them back and to be brought at the same time. Most servers would take all and bring them back together! Paying the amount I did for this service was atrocious.

Excellent.Was VERY busy and the staff kindly warned us there would be a delay with service. Very friendly welcome.Prompt drinks service.Pizzas actually arrived very quickly and were cooked brilliantly.Yes it is a chain but it does what it does very well.Nb servers only get to keep their full tip if you tip in cash, if you use a card it gets split. Keep that in mind.

Quick visit for coffee and tiramisu for my husband and tea and sun dried tomato starter for me ( I'm GF) In and out in 20 minutes. Tables well spaced and very clean. Friendly staff wore masks. Great for a pit stop. Pizzas looked delicious.
