Executive Room - 1 nightThe good:- The bed was big and very comfortable- check in staff very friendly and welcomingThe bad:- the menu said “food available until 11pm” yet when we ordered at 10.30pm we were told they weren’t serving- the 24 hour lounge bar wasn’t open either- the hairdryer didn’t work- The night staff seemed put out when we asked them for more coffee and an extra heater, as the room was freezing - again, your literature did not meet the reality “ask our staff who will be happy to help you” - they weren’t and were borderline rude about it.- I can’t think of any other way to describe the breakfast other than “awful”- servicing crew didn’t even wait until we had left the room to begin cleaning. Check out was 11am and this was around 9.30am - we were removing our bags around themIt’s this kind of complacency that puts me off places like this, as you are treated more like an inconvenience than a paying guest.Poor service, acceptable (if cold) room.

Friendly welcome, clean rooms, relaxing atmosphere. Every door had a hand sanitiser next to it, everyone was encouraged to wear masks. Breakfast was well made, vegans are catered for, just ask at the counter. Recommended for a relaxing break.

Rooms OK a small fridge in the room for water and milk would be nice. My partner and me spent 3 nights here don't go to the bar for a drink £10.25p for a pint and a Southern Comfort rip aff. The food was amazing,

Very dissapointed with the overall experience of this hotel. We stayed for New Year and expected the bar area to be open with some entertainment.... didn't see one firework or anything that resembled bringing in the New Year. Staff informed me that the bar area would NOT be open due to Covid regulations.The in-house bar area was non-existent. The restaurant was virtually empty. At one of our evening meals the table we were given was clearly not cleaned as there was a used glass still on the table even though there were plenty of unused tables still available !! and on exiting the hotel we were asked to pay for the nights we stayed even though it had been pre-paid in advance via a booking company. !! The person on reception clearly did not have any information received from the booking company and asked for a copy of the email we had received from them!! Not well organised I'm afraid to say sorry ! Breakfast was good .... had full breakfast cereals, toast, danish pastries, muffins, fruit, yogurts, continental meats, dates & mixed fruit cocktail, coffee, latte, tea etc, to choose from. Evening meals were a little expensive, especially if you add a glass of wine which was £8.30 ! Could have bought 2 bottles from Lidl for that price. Allocated room was dark in the corner of the room where the mirror was, consequently was the only place available to apply make up and style ones hair ... had to go to reception to report the missing lamp which was rectified immediately, however, again not a good start to our 2 night break... I shall not be booking this hotel again in a hurry.

This was for work, the room was good, clean and tidy. The bed was a bit soft for me but that's a personal thing.The WiFi was ok at best, it dropped rhe connection alot which didn't when I was trying to work at night.The restaurant was excellent, I had the chicken burger which was tasty and bread platter to start which was great.The service was excellent and they couldn't do enough for you.

Amazing service recovery. My husband stays frequently. Had a bad stay due to circumstances out with the hotels control. Contacted Heather at the Holiday Inn and she did all she could and more to compensate. Also put me in touch with Kelly in sales who was lovely and helped with a corporate rate he could use. Any contact I have had the staff have been wonderful and really helpful. Would highly recommend. Thank you Heather!
