"A short walk or drive from Dumfries along the river Nith is the Swan. A family pub/restaurant with real fires, great beer garden and local ale as well as a fully stocked bar and wine list. The food is good honest home cooked classic pub food with a twist. Serving 7 days of the week lunches and dinner and all day on Sundays when you can enjoy Sunday roasts. Know for good portions at a reasonable price served in a welcoming atmosphere."

Great restaurant! The food was excellent (although it could have been a bit warmer, I sent mine back for reheating which was quickly done). We had a number of different items off the menu and they were all enjoyed. The staff are friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable.

The meal was fairly good although I thought the puddings were quite small for the money, and it was rather slow to my mind as it wasn't overly packed at that time. The grounds outside seemed to be ample and plenty tables. although there has been a fireplace fitted where we sat but no heat came from it I think it needs a vent to allow the heat into the dining room but it went out and the waitress rekindled it. It was not cold but just comfortable towards chilly.I also noticed the carpark although takes a few cars needed re topping as on alighting from the vehicle you had to walk through large puddles. In conclusion I would offer 7/10 for food, 6/10 for comfort. And 4/10 for parking and 7/10 for cost. The staff were very friendly and did in fact give us an itemised receipt, which was nice as most resturant/cafes give only a card receipt and you have to ask for a proper receipt which with all the electronic marvels does not seem to much to ask as its usually unreadable paper. All aside I would recommend the Swan.

Great find after a day exploring. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was really great. Only downside was some items were not available (same for half the country at the moment) but we were charged for replacement items. Still, was amazing!

The staff here couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. The place itself is lovely, facilities are immaculate and the food tasty, plentiful and excellent value for money. I'm vegetarian and there were several dishes to choose from. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit here.

Took a walk alone the Nith river and then had lunch at the Swan. It was lovely. The food was yummy and exceeded my expectations. We ordered creamy whisky sauce with char grilled chicken breast & haggis fritter and whole tail Scampi were both delicious π Mince pie for dessert felt Christmassy.
