Table Table Solway Gate in Dumfries & Galloway

Booked in for Mother’s Day treat, should have went elsewhere! Service was very slow and most things out of stock, the chicken dinner myself and daughter ordered was disgusting the gravy smelt terrible, the pudding took 35 minutes to arrive the boy would rather clean empty tables than serve us. We will not be back.

It was a lovely place, the atmosphere was nice and there was a big selection of food and it was amazing. The table was the tiniest bit grubby, but other than that it was great! I would absolutely go back.

Very poor customer service. Booked a table here on Friday night. Waited by reception area to get seated but just ignored by staff. Walked up to bar and still ignored my staff. Finally manager got some one to seat us.Food was OK. Both the mains and puddings ordered were out of stock and had to be reordered.When the pudding finally came, the staff then started going round the restaurant hoovering.

Absolutely terrible ordered food at 7pm for table of 12 food never arrived till 8.30 was never informed that it would take so long also food was cold and the manager was an absolute dragon wouldnt apologies or anything just said we were busy even though pub was half empty so best of ordering a kfc from town. Also if you check on google it states as busy as it gets no waiting time!!! The waiter did her very best though

We stay in Dumfries and come here regularly. We like to sit at the window in the conservatory where we were sitting tonight. We didn’t have our usual young man serving us tonight. We did in fact have Isla, who was equally as helpful and attentive. Anna was also there to support her a she was a new member of staff. Our meal was excellent as usual. I can’t fault the restaurant or their staff. For some reason they always get good staff. Well done to all

The service was extremely slow. My children couldn’t eat their macaroni cheese because it was cold and chewy and had no flavour to it whatsoever. I had the chicken burger which had been deep fried many times. It was also chewy. The children’s flatbread garlic bread starters were very uninspired. Would not eat here again!!

The service was great could not fault them, we all enjoyed our food, it was a responsible price. Warm and clean surroundings and plenty parking

DO NOT COME HERE AT ALL COSTSFood is a disaster. The vending machine in the Premier inn is a better choice for food. Save your time and money. Stay away.Thank you

We had a lovely meal & the staff were great. Everything was clean but minor details like no toilet rolls was rather disappointing.
