Just moved to Dumfries and my mum and I really like Indian takeaways, so we decided to give taste of bengal a go as the first takeaway to try since moving here. Ordered at 6.45pm and was told it’d be 45-60 mins delivery. Got an estimated delivery time of between 7.40-8pm. Got to 8.20pm and still no food. My mum decided to call the takeaway to see what was going on, only for the guy on the phone to be completely dismissive, claiming it normally always takes this long for deliveries!? Said it was with the driver now and wouldn’t be long. Got to 8.45pm and still no food! My mum rang again, only to have the phone be put down on her. She rang once again, asking where the food was, the guy tried to tell us it had already been delivered. Put us on hold to ring the driver. Food eventually arrived around 5 mins later, 2 hours after we had ordered. Food was cold and therefore the food wasn’t nice, and the service was just shocking. Will definitely not be ordering from here again.

Stayed a few days in Dumfries and got a delivery from here. For £23 we got cold food, chips that looked like Mcdonalds fries and onion bhajis you couldnt get a knife through. Korma had about 5 small bits of chicken that were so dry, madras wasn't much better. Never again, not worth the money.

Delicious food - especially the chicken chaat. The special for two was an absolute steal at £20 and was ready in twenty five minutes. Really pleasant staff. Highly recommend.

Was told after already waiting 1hr for the meal we ordered via Just eat, that once we went to collect it that it would be a further 10-15 minutes. We then stood and waited another hour and a half before we eventually got our food. Definitely not worth the money as everything we got was greasy and not very good, all 3 naans we got were beyond burnt and for sure not worth the 2hr wait or all that money!

A shocker of a take away. Without question the worst I,ve ever tasted, absolutly no Indian taste or spice. First time ever done so, phoned them up to complain was met with well that's then way it goes attitude. stay well clear. if could give a zero I would

The food it's always lovely and tasty, sometimes you wait a little long but I think that it's worth it, I've almost tried all the menu and it's so nice and fresh. Spot on.

Best take away in town. The currys are fantastic and meat is very tender, and very well priced. I especially like the pakora sauce. Most definitely 10/10. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this Takeaway for Indian cuisine. Thanks Taste of Bengal for the superb meals, will be back .

I have never had anything but beautiful food from this little take away. The staff are always friendly, very polite and happy to recommend a dish when I can't make a decision. I love this place and it is so worth my 20 mile round trip. Thankyou.

Whilst the food is tasty and inexpensive, the last and final meal I had from there was when my wife found a fly in her curry sauce.
