stayed for an amazing dinner on the platinum jubilee weekend on our way to family. dinner was absolutely delicious and everything was cooked to perfection. staff were all so amazing and kind and even the owner told myself and my sister he loved seeing us genuinely smiling. everything was perfect and would definitely consider staying in the hotel next time

This place is fantastic. 2 night stop over while having a lads motorcycle trip. All staff are excellent and all related, definitely a family run and owned business. Nothing is to much for these guys, food top notch with fantastic rooms. Parts of hotel are dated but it all adds to the quirkiness. Ideally placed and equip for bikers. Very secure parking and well worth a visit. We will be back thank you.

Super stop and stay Dave and his staff couldn't be more accommodating. So very helpfully. Good food good beer garages and secured parking for your bikes.

A total joy of a stay. The Buccleuch Arms is an absolute haven for anyone involved in or undergoing any outdoors sports and activities. All the main staff are involved in one way or another with motorbiking, hiking, cycling or watersports. There is an entire room where the walls are just maps to plan your onward adventures! I arrived for a night of respite on my Big Bothy Walk (sleeping at all the MBA Bothies over a series of months) and I felt like I had manifested it somehow because it met absolutely all my hopes and dreams.Comfortable and big beds, fantastic bath and the breakfast choices are all amazing (I opted for the arboath smokies). The staff all remember each individual and what their plans were and make easy discussion and suggestions. In each room is a full information pack on the area and options for packed lunches before you head out to the hills and valleys.I returned to Moffat a couple days later and was devastated that I couldn't get another room there - but also very glad that their business appears to be thriving! Long may it continue!They do offer laundry, but the machines just down the road at the petrol station are very convenient, and breakfast is (brilliantly) started at seven - an earlier time than most which actually allowed me to have it before I left on an earlier start!Cannot be faulted, and I cannot sing its praises enough. The staff alone make this place fantastic. The fact that the rest of it is perfect is just a cherry on top.Happy hiking, biking and paddling yous all!

If you're a biker touring Scotland you have have to make this a stopover on your route. Look it up - SA food is great - I recommend the Bobotie (however you spell it!.) Dave the owner will give you a personalised riding route if you ask him, and he knows his stuff. An epic 3 hrs tour today. Thanks Dave.

We didn't stay, just popped in a couple of times for a drink and a meal, both of which were enjoyable. The service was excellent , and owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly 👍

Just fantastic. Great place, fabulous hosts, and all set up for your bike if you’re on a motorbike tour. Excellent value and good food (evening meal and breakfast). Highly recommend.

Just stayed one night here . Would highly recommend it .lovely hotel run by lovely people. My husband recommends the steak and ale pie . He actually returned here so that he could have it again .

From start to finish, Dave and his family made us feel so welcome. The rooms are so clean, warm and comfortable and the staff are brilliant. Very dog friendly 🐕🐾🐕 The food is out of this world...thank you Lara! Nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble. We have had a brilliant stay and fantastic New Year. If i could give 11 out of 10 I would...thank you so much to you all 👍👍

We had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay, secure in the knowledge that everything possible was being done to keep us covid safe. The room was spotlessly clean and beds comfortable. The owners cared for us like family friends rather than hotel guests. Nothing too much trouble. Food excellent too. Can highly recommend.
