We popped in for a quick bite to eat with our baby girl last night and despite being fully booked, they fitted us in which we were so grateful for. Staff very friendly and great with our baby, food was tasty (did take a while but well worth the wait) and relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend

On the good side nice bed linen and towels. On the bad side, room did not have adequate facilities, only one bed side cabinet with tiny draws, only draws in the room. Tiny built in wardrobe. Nowhere to put anything in the shower room, only a wobbly shelf above the toilet, only one chair, room over crowded...had bunk beds, at least they were a place we could put our case. The wifi was not working, not that anyone bothered to let use know what the password was. The TV would turn itself on in the middle of the night. The only breakfast we did have was over cooked and consisted of cheap ingredients. No dedicated parking for guests. The room was not serviced, the only member of staff that was in the hotel told us it should have been serviced. The bar, while we were there was closed before 8pm. No food available. We were told by one of the few members of staff we did see, that the owners never show their faces. Considering the reviews the Garret has, it was a very disappointing experience. Maybe the reviews were made before the “change of management” that you advertise so prominently.

Omg.... Visiting Kirkcudbright for 3 nights.. Staying at local caravan park.Checked out the Garret online before heading down the town the place looks great.I Beleive in spending my money in local establishments but I will not be spending anymore of my hard earned cash in the Garret. We ordered drinks which were actually more expensive than my favourite bars in Edinburgh and Glasgow.. An eye watering £8.25 for a pint of guinness and a half pint of Italian lager... To say I felt ripped off is an understatement.. I then asked for the food menu.. Sorry we are fully booked I was told by the bar maid.... The place was empty so I asked again and said they must do walk ins.... NO WE DON'TWILL NOT BE BACK... SO DISAPPOINTED....

It was welcoming and clean, the meals were reasonably priced and very enjoyable but they were having problems with staff which meant rooms were only made up once in our five day stay.

Very accommodating at the last minute for food. Friendly staff, cosy environment and best home made chips I've ever had. Quality food at decent prices. Comfortable pub for holiday goers and locals.

How wonderful! The restaurant has delicious vegan/vegetarian options! Super lentil soup. Exemplary presentation and service. A fantastic meal on a cold grey day.

We intend visiting soon, My brother in law visited recently with his family and enjoyed a meal in the garden area. His wife had been to the see the Harbour cottage gallery where she had been to see the art work she had on display, and she had sold three of her paintings so had treated the family and bought lunch. At the Garret. Unable to call in for lunch on the 21/9/2021, we had a busy schedule and had to leave just after 1300,and the Garrett was not then open for meals.

Stumbled across The Garrett when wandering around Kirkcudbright. There was 3 adults and 4 kids for lunch. The place was fantastic with a lovely outdoor seating area. The food was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend the Haddock and chips ....delicious.The service was friendly and welcoming. This is place definitely worth a visit if your in the area 😊

Incredible food. Incredible flavours. Well presented. Generous portions. Lovely attentive staff. Felt very safe under the current situation. Calm vibe. Price was cheap ( because of Eat out to Help out) otherwise still very fair. Would highly recommend. Great choice of vegetarian and meat options on the menu.
