The Hightae Inn in Dumfries & Galloway

We enjoyed our stay 😊👍👍 room was fantastic, shower room was very nice 😍 and the food was great all home made and delicious 😋 😋 can't wait to go back when we next visit Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 👍👌

Stayed here last week for one night and it was fabulous. Mark and Morag who run the Inn are lovely people who engage with their guests and provide a first class service with lovely accommodation and excellent food. The Inn is located in the centre of a very quiet village approx 10 min off the motorway (near Lockerbie) and less than 1hr drive from Hadrians Wall. It's operated purely as a Restaurant with rooms (not a pub!). It's quaint and charming with well appointed and freshly decorated rooms. It's so nice I hope to return sometime. I can highly recommend the Hightae Inn for first class accommodation, food and hospitality.

Freshly cooked delicious food with a limited menu which is always a good sign. The hosts are really welcoming and the rooms are of a high standard.

Spent three nights here and had dinner twice. Top notch food, Morag cooks a perfect steak. Room was clean, bed really comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here. I loved it and hope to return. They really make you feel at home.

From the moment we made the booking the owners of The Hightae Inn could not have been more helpful. On arrival we found a warm greeting from Mark, Morag and Thomas. We had booked the double room with a bath and the room was as described.The whole place including our room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The bed linen was of lovely quality, tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room with fresh milk daily.We ate at the inn both for our evening meal and for the excellent breakfast. The food was delicious and Morag was happy to tweak the menu slightly if desired.Mark provided us with instructions to take in many of the wonderful places in the area including a map. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring and came back to a home cooked meal in the evening.Thomas (The Dog) Was extremely handsome and entertaining!The Hightae Inn is well placed for easy access to many areas whether you are stopping off on your way north or exploring all that the wonderful Dumfries and Galloway area has to offer. It is easy to find and represents excellent value for money.Advice for the double/ With bath room would be Open both the bathroom and bedroom windows in warm weather to get a breeze through as it is a warm room.Take a couple of coat hangers with you as there is no wardrobe but there is hanging space in the bathroom.If you are having trouble connecting to the internet the downstairs visitors lounge has a better connection.Don't be afraid to ask anything at all because if it is humanly possible Morag and Mark will try to provide it!!

Excellent food, drink and accommodation. Mark and Moray are so friendly they make it feel special. Thomas the dog is a character!!

I don't know why I never gave them the review they deserve...My wife and I stayed here three years ago and loved it..it has the small town feel along with that great warm hospitality from it's owners...the food was great as were the drinks..very clean and nicely decorated...oh, don't worry about not having your reading glasses n not being able to read the menu...it's a large chalk board they bring to your table...nice touch...loved this little B&B and would love to visit again someday...cheers..

Regularly visit this amazing little Inn for a meal with my sister. My husband and I have also stayed in the very tasteful rooms. The service, food are wonderful and the hosts welcoming and very friendly. Jl

Fabulous Inn. Lovely rooms, and fantastic food. The owners are Brilliant, nothing too much trouble. A little bit off the beaten track, but well worth finding.
