The Pheasant in Dumfries & Galloway

Had dinner there recently. I have dined there before. I found the menu rather limited. It seemed that the produce used was not the best quality.. A little underwhelming in my opinion.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Off the beaten track but so worth the visit. The menu is small which forced myself and my boyfriend to choose dishes outside of our comfort zones, and boy are we glad we did. The food was truly outstanding, all cooked by one chef who really knows his stuff and is clearly very passionate about the quality of his food. Extremely attentive and accommodating staff. Highly recommended.

Friendly welcome food was acceptable but not exceptional

The food was excellent, service great, good prices. I loved it, pizza was not on menu when we went but they made me one. It was so good.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere with excellent menu including gluten free created by the owner/Italian chef. Highly recommended.

Beautiful little restaurant, superb food great service and not too expensive.Its a bit off the beaten track, so something of a hidden gem.

Probably the most remote, yet authentic, Italian restaurant in the UK! Found this by chance looking for a good place to eat on Google maps while staying in Port William. The menu is simple, but absolutely delicious food. I was able to chat to the owner/chef who was friendly and polite, as well has his serving staff. Would highly recommend this place!

The food tastes reasonably good, but perhaps a little plain and cheaper ingredients (e.g. bland blue cheese, heavily vinegary mustard). However, the price Vs quality Vs quantity is definitely not good. The more intoxicated member of our party liked it, but the rest of us weren't quite so impressed.

Excellent, beautiful food. Very friendly husband & wife team. Very warm welcome. Really enjoyable very tasty meal out. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. A gem in the village of Sorbie.

A lovely family meal. A simple menu with fabulous Italian pasta dishes with some tasty starters to get the taste buds going. Pizzas for little ones only during busy periods - my vegetarian teenage daughter was a bit disappointed that she couldn’t have pizza as the two vege options for mains weren’t really her sort of thing. Everyone was delighted with their puddings though - the Tiramisu is highly recommended!
