This does not deserve 1 star. My partner is working away on business & booked this hotel as thought it looked ok with pool table/bar area. However he turned up after a long day at work to find the place locked up in darkness. Not a soul in sight & money been taking from his bank!! Should have read the below review beforehand, DO NOT book this hotel. I have contacted booking.com to have this removed from their website & request a full refund! Absolute joke!!!!

It doesn't deserve 1 star as i did not stay, Turned up on sat 26th jan for overnight stay to find place in darkness.Lights out and message on door phone number to call , had to wait outside for 10 until a guy came out and started shouting are you the manager.I contacted police , never be so insulted in my life the owner may have mental health issues. Police confirmed not first incident there. Please stay away his manner is horrendous and so unprofessional.Thought i was in twilight zone to be honest

Defo not how looked online when booked and would say misold.Had to call number on arrival as place is closed completely bar etc.Think it was just me and my dad in place no security or if anything happened not sure what would do as nobody on site etc.Thankfully it was just for 1 night but would have looked for other hotel if longer. The price could have had a much nicer and higher rates with breakfast!Such a shame as position is excellent one min from centre of town.

I stayed in the hotel above. You couldn't hope for a more friendly and helpful welcome from the host. Went out of his way to help with the motorbike parking too. If I'm ever back in Dumfries, I'll be checking here for hotel rooms first.

Clean, warm and owner friendly. Good place for a base. Only problem we had was that we couldn't get the shower to work at first 😀

The room was very clean, bathroom spotless. Host was very friendly and quick to sort out any issues. We arrived very late and had no issues checking in. Parking was good too. Also great location. Very pleased. Thank you!

Stayed with friends, 8 of us in total. All our rooms were immaculate, beds comfortable. Good showers. The manager was very helpful and was on hand for anything we needed. The bar was closed due to the current situation but it didn't matter to us.Have stayed here before and will definitely be back.Brilliant location, 2 minutes from the main square and all the pubs, places to eat and shops. Some beautiful walks near by, the riverside walk is lovely.

Lovely rooms, very hygienic and clean. Comfy beds and a huge bathroom. Manager was very friendly made us feel welcome instantly. Hotel situated in a gorgeous location with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and pubs in walking distance. What more could you want! Will definatley be visiting again.

Lovely hotel, although we stayed in lockdown restrictions so the bar was closed, there's a full floor between the bar and the rooms so I can't imagine noise would be an issue at all. Owner was friendly and very helpful, the room was clean and well supplied with brew stuff (always a bonus!). The shower was awesome....... Not something with getting excited about but it would've given Niagara falls a run for its money! Overall very positive visit, very happy and will be staying again next time we visit the area
